satyam1729 Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 batsman of last decade. He hardly scored runs against quality attacks even on flat tracks. Year 2006 in which he scored 1700 , he scored his runs on the flattest tracks of Pakistan and against England. I mean hardly any quality side.He does not deserve average of 50. Discuss

Discuss Yousuf is one of the most underrated batsman of this decade and is far better than Tendulkar in 2000s. Lets analyze their stats in last decade. Yousuf has scored 6439 runs with 23 100s in 71 matches. Average is 58+ Sachin has scored 7129 runs with 21 100s in 89 matches.Average is 53+. Only 2 more 100s in 18 more matches. In 4th innings of last decade Yousuf average drops by 7 runs per innings to 51+ while Sachin average drops by 10 runs to 42 :omg: Away from home in 4th innings in last decade, Yousuf averages 44+ while Sachin averages 29+. :omg: http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/43650.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;innings_number=4;orderby=default;spanmax1=31+Dec+2009;spanmin1=01+Jan+2000;spanval1=span;template=results;type=allround http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/35320.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;innings_number=4;orderby=default;spanmax1=31+Dec+2009;spanmin1=01+Jan+2000;spanval1=span;template=results;type=allround

satyam1729 Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 @Umar Akmal: Yousuf in Aus - 31.9 in Ind - 33.7 in SA - 26.1 in SL - 33.8 That is more than enough what kind of player he was Have you checked the bowling average of Imran khan in 4th innings
satyam1729 Posted April 22, 2010 Author Posted April 22, 2010 Imran khan in 4th innings http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/40560.html?class=1;innings_number=4;template=results;type=bowling;view=innings This is laughable to say least
vvvslaxman Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 UmarAkmal lol why is he pants when he plays against ozzies and saffers?
Serani Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 He basically had 2 amazing years and the rest of his career he was good. Now he is banned for life.
achilles Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 He is the best batsman Pakistan has had this decade.

Yosuf is probably one the best batsmen of this decade. He sure is very under-rated.

Pak_Forever Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 He basically had 2 amazing years and the rest of his career he was good. Now he is banned for life. I guess you are not well familiar with PCB. :--D
satyam1729 Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 I guess you are not well familiar with PCB. :--D No he was a match-fixer. And Yousuf, Inzamam and Miandad are the greatest flat track bully World has ever seen. Yousuf and Inzamam couldn't dominate OZ and SA even on flat tracks.:haha::haha:
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Have a look at his career. An average of below 30 against 3 major Test playing nations, with 2 of them being the top 2 bowling attacks of his time - vs Aus - 29.61 vs S.A - 29.75 vs S.L - 29 Add to that an average of below 35 in 4 of the major Test playing nations - in Aus - 31.88 in S.A - 26.10 in Ind - 33.73 in S.L - 33.80 Now have a look at the 2 teams he has cashed in the most - vs Ban - 251.50 vs W.I - 101.61 W.I has been virtually minnows since the retirement of Ambrose and Walsh in 2000. As for the 4th innings example, Lara averages about 35 with the bat and Imran Khan averages more than 42 with the ball in the 4th innings of Test matches.
saneindian Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 A guy with an avergae of 50+ in tests over rated? But for his ICL years, he would have scored more than 9000 test runs. Can't slate someone with such a good record. Maybe he is not in the same league as a Miandad or a Inzi, but definitely Pakistan's best batsman in the last decade.
