The performance of his that I liked was the 6 for 20 odd against SA when SA looked set to beat India at A'bad. That was the first time I saw an Indian pacer rip through a side and beat them all hands done with pace and swing. That was incredibility superb piece of bowling and the spell that marked Srinath rise in international cricket!

That was one of the finest fast bowling performances I have ever seen. Just to provide the context to ppl who don't know much about the game... SA had to score 160 odd to win the test and the pitch was playing true and flat, though providing a little bit of assistance to spinners (but not a turner by any stretch of imagination). SA had a strong batting order with depth till 9 or 10. SA were comfortably placed and that's when Tendulkar handed to Srinath and Srinath ripped through SA batting order to script a memorable Indian victory. And it was a true pitch till the end and did not misbehave - it was simply outstanding exhibition of fast bowling.

I heard Debang Gandhi was a smash hit everytime he played your league. Had he been born in BD, would have been the greatest BD batsman ever, BD's own Don Bradman. But wait, there are at least 100 other batsmen in Indian cricket who could be equally good as Debang. Want to borrow one of them to proclaim them as "BD's own Don Bradman"?

Ha ha. This is very funny. Let me give you some more. Here is a start. Vinod Kambli was the greatest middle order batsman on the planet (outside the West Indies) during the first half of the 1990'a (between 1st Jan 1990 and 31st Dec 1995 to be precise). Here are the stats of the the world's best who qualify (minimum 15 Test innings). Not only does Kambli have the best average of all he also scored a 100 in fewer Test innings than anyone else ;-)
