And yet Mcgrath has better bowling average and SR in ODI. And please don't embarasss yourself by comparing Asif to Mcgrath. Oh really most of the sensational spell used to be against low ranked team. Please stop using lahori logic. And yes Mcgrath did not feast on tail enders. Tendulkar was never bothered to face Akram. But Mcgrath troubled him many times.
I don't know what I said that made you so much hyper. Just cool down please. First of all, I am of Opinion that comparing Mcgrath and Akram, you must consider the following factors: 1. Wasim played most of his matches at dead pitches where it is very difficult for bowlers. 2. While Mcgrath played most of his matches on pitches which has much more assistance for the Bowlers. I am sure if both of them played as same pitches, then results and stats would have been totally different. And also note that standards of Pakistani fielding and catching are not as good as of Aussies and this make a lot of difference too. And lastly, I once again say that Mcgrath was a great Test bowler but not so much great in ODIs and this fact can been seen if you are watching IPL where Mcgrath is not a Regular for his team as bowler.

Mcgrath was past his peak during IPL time. And most importantly compare the WC record of Mcgrath and Akram. Mcgrath wins hands down Mcgrath was a better bowler on dead pitches too. Compare their record in Asia. And Mcgrath did not get the help of Pakistani umpire.

..I already said Indian pitches favour spin and that is fine. What is not is deliberately extending that advantage - ie producing effectively a day five track for day one.
In a perfect world..yes.. But we've seen more than our share of green-tops just because other teams(Non-Asian) had better pace attack than ours... Its the same pitch that both teams are playing on..I don't see why 'dark-side of the moon' pitch should be of concern to just one captain in a match....

Border was a bigger legend than Mcgrath :winky:
I am so surprised that things like you do exists in the world! from the start you wanted to compare, compare and compare them. You can preferMc grath, some can prefer Wasim, i don't see why are you trying to proove that Wasim wasn't great... Wasim was a great fast bwler. Doens't change anything to his greatness if McGrath is better. Example : McGrath is great, Marshall ils better, so when cricinfo will talk about McGrath you will start crying that Marshall was better??? Sad for you,

Because he was better than Akram
S0 you will bring in Marshall when somene will talk about McGrath because Marshall was better. You will not praise McGrath but cmpare him to Marshall???? Is that your logic? Same thing, if somne praise RahulDravid, you will say he is crap compare to Sachin Tendulkar? Or also say that that dravid is great?

People arguing over the greatness of Wasim/Waqar and the impact they had on this game are just fooling themselves. It's like when I say Nazir is better than Sehwag...see how dreadful it sounds. :haha:

Akram was more of an innovator. McGrath ultimately produced better results though. It depends on you, some will prefer Akram because of him pioneering swing bowling. Mark my words, no other bowler has ever had the grip in swing bowling that Akram had. McGrath on the other hand was a master of line and length, and seam movement. That was his specialty. As I've said earlier, I prefer results to anything else. I'd pick McGrath. But that doesn't make Akram any less of a bowler. In my opinion Akram is the greatest bowler from the sub-continent. With regards to Imran Khan, though he has better stats, he played in a time where there was alleged ball tampering all the time in Pakistan, and to that those notorious home umpires. But Akram, in the 90's, didn't have any of those luxuries. Sure, he was convicted of ball tampering. But it was not possible at that time to time and again tamper with the ball and get away with it. Akram's was probably a one off incident. P.S. It's one thing to consider someone better than Akram. But to question his impact on the game or his greatness just makes you guys sore losers. I remember how just a handful of such sore losers existed in that padosi website as well, making equally hilarious claims of Inzamam being better than Sachin.
