satyam1729 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 malcolm marshall was better than Mcgrath' date=' Akram, Donald combined.[/quote'] Left out Ambrose :nervous: Agreed Marshall was better than Mcgrath. But Richard Hadlee was better than Marshall
Serani Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Kumble took 24 wickets in 3 test in OZ in 2004. Best performance by any bowler in last 2 decade against OZ in OZ.. And Kumble average is high because he took 200 Wkts more than Akram and bowled on graveyard of Pak in 2006 Yeh I suppose Wasim has never bowled on any graveyards in Pak.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 malcolm marshall was better than Mcgrath' date=' Akram, Donald combined.[/quote'] Wrong to say that. All of them were great in their own areas - Akram - Best swing bowler in history McGrath - Can anyone even remotely come close to his accuracy? Donald - When he bowled in his prime, he was virtually 'jet fast'. Having said that, I do agree that Malcolm Marshall comes out on top of those three.
Serani Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Left out Ambrose :nervous: Agreed Marshall was better than Mcgrath. But Richard Hadlee was better than Marshall Richard Hadlee was a green track bully :eyedance:
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Left out Ambrose :nervous: Agreed Marshall was better than Mcgrath. But Richard Hadlee was better than Marshall Nope, nowhere close. Marshall was in a league of his own. Hadlee didn't even come close. Hadlee was in the league of guys like Imran, Holding, Roberts, etc.
Maha_Apa Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 McGrath - Can anyone even remotely come close to his accuracy? Asif
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 McGrath - Can anyone even remotely come close to his accuracy? Asif It's too early. Can be said maybe someday, but definitely not now.
satyam1729 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Asif Don't compare a druggie to Mcgrath :haha::hysterical:
satyam1729 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 Yeh I suppose Wasim has never bowled on any graveyards in Pak. Please check the scorecard of that series. Most boring test series ever.
Lord Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Asif no way.even Pollock was more accurate than Asif
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Don't compare a druggie to Mcgrath :haha::hysterical: You really need to behave respectfully. They are our guests, mind you. And if Asif was a druggie, then what exactly is Warne who is regarded among the top 4 cricketers of all time?
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Please check the scorecard of that series. Most boring test series ever. Boring has got nothing to do with performance.
Serani Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Ambrose maybe more accurate than Mcgrath, to be fair though accuracy is overrated, I mean you get literally tons of trundlers in county cricket who are really accurate.

I would say Kumble is more comparable to Mcgrath in terms of accuracy.

Ambrose has the best bowling average among all his contemporaries.
Serani Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Id say Ambrose was even more destructive than Wasim too, no total was easy to get with Ambrose and Walsh bowling and they would pretty much bowl all day until the job was done.

Maha_Apa Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Ambrose's only failure in his career was against India like Lara :winky::--D WI team with Ambrose & Walsh were white washed in Pakistan in 1998 series. :winky:
