Rave reviews by critics. This movie apparently was never released in India due to stringent demands by Censor Board to cut out controversial scenes from the movie. Won Best film award at Durban IFF, BBC audience award in 2004. awesome, thanks for this. will get it.

I have seen this movie. It's hilarious in some scenes. It's a pure adult movie and could not have passed the Indian censor anyways.
DomainK Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Yes, I'd heard the book was better. But if anyone says 'X' would have done a better job than Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth, s/he is an idiot. If Rooney Mara (The Social Network) does half decent job as Noomi (in the US version), she would have done well. I dropped the idea of reading the books as I just dont have the time for it and watched the first one of the trilogy. Loved the character of Lisbeth Salander. There is very dark side to the character as well as the story. The character was brilliantly portrayed by Noomi. I have the sequels with me already and will watch when I have the time.
