StriKe Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Maybe if Ojha or Mishra played for CSK. Team was selected after 12 day of ipl :wall: Its nothin to do with CSK Opener should be replaced with opener
f2000560 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 cheeka may not be fairest of persons as is evident of anirudh's selection in CSK ahead of abhinav mukund or even Arun Karthik who imho have a better FC record. But in this case i don't see any malice. Vijay was in form he was an opener. Yes Uthappa should have been there but there is plenty of dead spaces in the middle order he could have replaced

The coach and captain select the team and not the PR face.
diegovegaz Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 yes, it all comes down to the poor squad selection to make matters worse, dhoni stays the stubborn himself, and plays the wrong xi he is equally responsible
Zap_Brannigan Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 yes, it all comes down to the poor squad selection to make matters worse, dhoni stays the stubborn himself, and plays the wrong xi he is equally responsible Dhoni does that. Remember Joginder Sharma in the 2007 T20 WC? He has also done it in CSK and ODIs. He likes his bits and pieces players.

The Outsider Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 who would open then Opening in T20 is not a specialist job like Test matches. Practically, any decent batsman can open in T20. And if the logic was to select a specialist opener in case we face bowler friendly conditions, it was brutally exposed by Vijay's incompetence against the short ball.
someone Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 When did we Indians start acting like parosis. It is nothing to do with selectors, remember the squad was selected at the beginning of IPL. And the point of southie bias is just laughable. The players deserve the chances based on their records in and before the IPL. Moreover, for the first time, India team is very competitive with players of various stages. It was just some time ago there were all mumbais player whom played for India classic example Sir Aggy
Roshanrocks Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Why this need for singling out one person for the blame? its a collective team and BCCI management failure.
