The team led by its captain wasn't good enough barring a few individuals who did well (Raina and Nehra). Some studpid decision by Dhoni were the major contributors to this defeat though. Perhaps playing too many low quality t20 games in IPL just before the WC is the worst preparation fora tournament like this.

A number of reasons but the main ones are mediocre bowling, even more mediocre techniques against the short ball and a lack of preparation. Key players from other formats like Gambhir, Zak and Yuvi were total flops.

What's the point of this thread? How would you conclude? What are YOU going to do after 'finding out' what went wrong? Really, people openings tens of threads for purposes that serve nothing and will inevitably end in vain is so annoying. It's only a waste a time for people who visit ICF. I am not sure if I am the only one here who feels ICF is going the way of you-know-which forum, where people open multiple threads for match fixing, finding the match ka mujra, how the selector is the chief culprit, how the board is the chief culprit, how the captain is a fit for nothing dumbass, more importantly how a player who was not selected was a sure winner who would have brought the cup to India, etc. If this is the direction the forum is going to go, then sane people might not frequently visit here or not visit at all. I know that's how many of us feel about the other forum that I am talking about. I know it is not necessary to talk about that forum here, but that forum is a clear example of what this forum is slowly turning into.
