Some random poster says that he knows someone in an IPL team and goes to say that the players dont care about the team like it is a fact and we should believe him. I then said, sarcastically, that i know a paki player who does the same in test cricket. I do not know nor do i like to know any paki player. as satyam said, i don't want to see the pakistani team banned, but how else will they ever learn? I hoped after the allegations in the early noughties all the problems in pakistani cricket but it's obvious that match fixing is still rampant there. and it's clear pakistan wont do anything to change their own system. what alternative is there?

I agree. I'm not complaining. India can afford to put out a league like the IPL for entertainment. Kudos to you. I'm just answering the delusional thread opener who thinks IPL helps cricketing ability. And IPL responsible for Jaywardene's T20 success. :haha: Correct me if I'm wrong but he played in the last two editions as well? He was shyt in T20 even then. So it's not that playing in the IPL helped him all of a sudden improve it was him realising his role in T20 that improved his batting.

And the success of Aussies and Saffers like McLaren in IPL translating to success in International cricket? Is IPL responsible? No because they were performers in their domestic leagues and they carried on performing in the IPL because they are class acts. Only thing IPL did for them is give them exposure. It didn't help them better their game.

yup i agree with u ... players like Warner, Nannes etc had a good record in Aussie domestic cricket .. ipl only helped them so far as they get to play in Indian conditions as well & ... no surprise they did well in Intnl cricket .. what India/bcci needs to do is send some of our young cricketers in domestic tourneys of Eng/Aus to make them better cricketers ... the longer they play only in flat pitches in India the longer they will fail abroad ...

Well even at flat pitch, we have not found any good indian player exclusively from IPL. So properly, our younger players should take full use of the IPL opportunity and perform well in India

Jaya was never shyt in IPL. He has been decent all 3 ipls.

Yep. This while our players become 140 to 125kph bowlers, put on weight, can't bat, can't bowl, can't field. All we do during in the IPL is suck our own cawk.

Mclaren has been a well known all rounder in the SA domestic cricket and in the county circuit for 6-7 years now!! Didn't do much in IPL afaik, in fact was one of the failures in MI! So not sure how IPL has helped him. IIRC made his debut for SA much before playing in IPL.
