I won't say much. Just that the 90's used to be the era of bowlers, and during those 10 years only 4 batsman averaged above 50 (among those who scored at least 2000 runs during that period). Look below and find out the differences in them - Most of the knowledgeable fans don't even give two hoots about the next era, where FTB's from everywhere averaged above 50. Tendulkar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lara, S. Waugh during the era that really mattered.

Your argument is full of bias. If Sachin was so good in 90s , he should have averaged in 60s or 70s in 2000s because of flat tracks and joke bowlers. In 2000s, Ponting,Yousuf,Sangakara & Kallis have out performed Sachin. He doesnt even come in top 5 in last decade. BTW, your arument of Sachin is different because of his 58 average in 90s has lot of loop holes in it. Murali was an ordinary spinner in 90s and Sachin did well against Warne but was ordinary against most good fast bowlers as the stats above show. Kallis,Yousuf, Ponting etc all have similar averages and 100 ratio compare to Sachin unlike Agarkar's average & Strike rate compariosn with 2 W's. :winky:

He played 3 series overall against McGrath and Warne both involved. In 1999 in Australia, he won the MOS despite being given out wrongly 2 times - once caught when the ball hit the pads, and once shoulder before wicket. Next it was in 2001 in India, he averaged 50 in it. Then in 2004 when he was rushed after missing the first two Tests, which India lost miserably, because of a serious tennis elbow infection. He did help India win the last Test but didn't average more than 20 in those 2 matches, but he had a reason for it.

That is a bit rich coming from you. Here is a stats for you. Pakistan have won 8 series outside Asia . 3 in England and 5 in NZ. And 6 of them were in 90s :haha::hysterical::yay: So the biggest minnow basher was Wasim and Waqar.
