mastana Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The goofy nehra has wickets to show for. What does Dinda have to show for? Your rant against Nehra is getting old dude. lmao give the same number of chances to Dinda he will show his a** too along with the wickets.
Guest OriginalPrince Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 lol barely gets over 140km. Probably wouldn't even be the fifth fastest bowler in most state sides but is considered the quickest bowler among a billion people.
Desi Cartman Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 lol barely gets over 140km. Probably wouldn't even be the fifth fastest bowler in most state sides but is considered the quickest bowler among a billion people. wait till he starts taking drugs .. he will become the world's phastest
Chandan Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Dinda and Yadav look decent. They are miles better then goofy Nehra. And both bend their backs to clock 140. Them two and Sharma are the positives from this A tour So how many wickets have those 140+ ks brought to India? These two can't even buy a wicket for their life and that too with the new ball bowling at 140Ks and what not! Yadav is one of the more exciting talents to emerge. Its too early to dismiss his talent and blame him for a 4-over spell. And what does IPL have to do with him not getting wickets here Chandan? Did he sign a contract with them for not taking any wickets in this series? Read the entire thread to get a grip on the topic being discussed. And IPL as a parameter for selection is just not on. IPL has not given us a single player and won't give us in future too. Hence performance in IPL should NEVER be the criteria for the selection of an ODI team or even T20I team. What's with dinda and his obsession with slower balls ? CI has been poking fun about his slower balls which are not deceptive and very easily picked by the batsmen. I've said it before Dinda is no good and is just there to clock at 140s but as ineffective as any other Indian bowler. Speed does jack **** if you're gonna keep bowling it straight. Very true. Thought our selectors would be wiser than these speed fanatics but what a wishful thining it was! lmao give the same number of chances to Dinda he will show his a** too along with the wickets. Nehra had taken wickets and that too of the opener in his very first over of his first match, also played at Harare. How many wickets did Yadav and Dinda get? http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66313.html

It didn't take Ishant Sharma bowling at 100 miles an hour to repeatedly humiliate your captain and best batsman in Test matches.
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Everyone waffling how many wickets dinda/yadav got. Stop being obssessed with stats, especially with young players who will clearly get BETTER! You fools made the same mistake with R Sharma! USE THE CRICKET EYE! One clearly see Yadav and Dinda bowl with decent pace. Much quicker then Nehra for example(whose overall record is simply pants and is caanon fodder against class and cant play tests cos he is weak). They also bowled with decent control. I see lots of potential there and frankly they excite me a bit. Trust me if they played with batters who got 300+ on the board then they will get more wickets.

Umm, no team in this world can guarantee carrying batsmen who'd score 300 runs on a consistent basis for their bowlers to "get more wickets". Besides, what good are the bowlers who need RPO of 6 to defend and take wickets :hmmmm:
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Par score in odis frankly is 300. Anything below 250 is a poor score and almost undefendable these days!
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Anyway who cares. Everyone seem happy with our 125 to 130 kmh bowlers, so lets just continue with them! I say recall I Pathan as he bowls 125 so would be ideal for most indian fans. Keep sticking your head in the sand about requirement for pace

So what is wrong in carrying Nehra in the team because frankly we haven't scored 300 on consistent basis for him to defend and pick wickets :dontknow: :giggle:

Keep sticking your head in the sand about requirement for pace Please tell me how has pace helped Dinda and Yadav to be an effective bowlers in this series ? They've almost come across as helpless as our current mainstream bowlers on dead pitches. And if you're saying these guys can be deadly on tracks that support swing and pace, i'll raise you 100 folds and say PK, Nehra and Zak can pwn any wannabe 140ks chewtiyas on those tracks.
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Dinda and Yadav have serious potential as they have pace. Yes they are not complete article yet but no one was, when they first start out. They should be perserved with and developed. Its about spotting potential and then using then to develop them. First ingredient as a pace bowler is PACE. They have that. Now work on making them bowl fast consitently and accuracy with movement. They have bowled well imo and have serious potential. Its well documented (apart from head in sand brigade) that india lacks pace bowlers. Thus identify pace and work with it! It worked with england in regards to bowlers like harmmison and Jones, thus india should follow the example
kabira Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Dinda was impressive in last game. But they have not created any chances. We can agree that pitches have been dead, absolutely dead. but I still would have thought they would create chances.
asterix Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 The bowling action Dinda has, he is not going to be very successful at international level. We have to look for other options...

And when will you understand that just bowling with decent pace won't fetch you wickets or stop the batsmen from scoring runs? You need MUCH MORE than just speed to do so. They could have defended 300 runs? So how did they do when they had 285 on the board? Same result it was, going above 6/overs and not a single wicket to both.

Same result it was, going above 6/overs and not a single wicket to both. AND WHEN WILL YOU UNDERSTAND THAT I ALWAYS SAY PACE WITH CONTROL AND MOVEMENT! In fact I get tired of having to type in my sentences pace WITH control and movement, always type so head in sand brigade like you dont jump all over me a misconstrue my words. Its bloody obvious I mean that but head in sand type brigade attempt to twist things by saying why are you obssessed with pace. Its obvious if you have control and movement at a higher pace that the bowling is far more lethal. That is what I am saying we neeed. Otherwise some one like Gangily with his control and movement would have been one of best bowlers in the world. We need a quality bowler who bowls with pace, we all know it deep down so lets try and get one. Or are you advising Yadav and Dinda to cut down on pace and concentrate on control?
Chandan Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 So are these two bowling with control? If not, how much is pace more important than control? And do you know why our bowlers have to cut on pace to gain control and eventually get injured and are thrown out? It is fairly obvious that you do not and don't care either. So isn't it futile discussing anything with you? And these pace merchants couldn't defend even 285 on board and that too against a team like Zim? How far will this pace take them to?
King Tendulkar Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 So you want them to cut down on pace and concentrate on control? Is that what you advise? Do you also advise Ishant to concentrate on control and not worry about bowling fast as well?
asterix Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Pace always doesn't works. But it's good to groom and have a couple of pacers on hand as you never know when you'll need them. Tait is not a good bowler in all conditions but he has been successful in recent T20 WC in Caribbean. Tait was pathetic during IPL but the Aussie selectors knew that he would be handy in Caribbean and he did well. Indian team should have atleast one fast bowler (yes Raw pace) and groom him. You never know when you need him. Just because Yadav faild on those patta wickets in Zimbabwe doesn't means that he will not do well on other wickets given the chance. Let's not blind your judgement based on hate towards IPL.
The Outsider Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 :hysterical::hysterical: @ the worshiping of Dinda going on. The guy is a pile of crap for anyone that has followed domestic cricket. He gets spanked silly by batsmen from all over the country. Not surprising to see him get support from morons who thought VRV Singh was a good prospect. Here are our pace bowlers since 2000, look at where Nehra stands. Please come back when Dinda can at least stop averaging 50 in nearly every FC season : http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?bowling_pacespin=1;class=2;filter=advanced;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=4;opposition=5;opposition=7;opposition=8;orderby=bowling_average;qualmin1=50;qualval1=wickets;spanmin1=01+Jan+2000;spanval1=span;team=6;template=results;type=bowling
