satyam1729 Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Since 2003 World Cup NZ and WI have won only 2 test series(major teams) . NZ- against SL, WI WI- against SL, England This is similar to Zimbawe from 1992-2002 who won against India and Pakistan. So as we ignore runs against Bangladesh and Zimbawe we have to ignore runs against WI and NZ since 2003 WC. So here is the runs away from home leaving those 2 teams(NZ and WI). http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;opposition=1;opposition=2;opposition=3;opposition=6;opposition=7;opposition=8;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=1000;qualval1=runs;spanmax1=02+Jan+2010;spanmin1=02+Mar+2003;spanval1=span;team=1;team=2;team=3;team=4;team=5;team=6;team=7;team=8;template=results;type=batting Ponting is at no.23. This is pathetic for batsman of the decade.
SachDan Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 Didn't even bother to check the link you provided. This innt any different from certain trolls twisting stats to decry Sachin's dominance :(
Laaloo Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 OMFG :banghead: Don't you have anything better to do dumbass?
bhanu Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 OMFG :banghead: Don't you have anything better to do dumbass? :hehe:
Bublu Bhuyan Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Ponting did deserve to be the batsman of the decade, and this is coming from the biggest Tendulkar fan on this planet. He was pretty much on top of his game from 2003 till 2006. The rest of the years were kind of good/average, but that fantastic period coupled with the rest of the years make him the ideal candidate in my opinion for the honor.
Guest OriginalPrince Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 1. decade did not start in 2003 2. why leave out nz and wi troll.
TumTum Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 There is no official award for the honor, it's all based on public opinion. Even if NZ and WI have had a hard time recently, in no way are they comparable to the minnows Bangladesh and Zimbabwe :haha:

satyam1729 Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Ah yes I forgot' date=' bow down to the mighty Heath Streak :haha:[/quote'] He was a decent bowler
satyam1729 Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Yes very decent :haha: Better than NZ have produced any in last 7 years bar Bond and WI have produced any in last 7 years.
TumTum Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: I know you will reply back with some other hilarious comment, this is fun :two_thumbs_up:

Fair Game Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Well if this is the case then murali's 100 wickets against bangladesh as opposed to warne's handfull don't count. On a side note why have sri lanka played banga in 9 more tests than the aussies since their inception and why are india and sri lanka playing in like their 3rd tri series against each other in less than 6 months.

Just like NZ and OZ play each other so often. And btw yes Murali's wicket don't count.
TumTum Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Streak was a good bowler. Averaged 29. Yes, Zimbabwe's best player averaged 29 with the ball :hysterical:
satyam1729 Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Yes' date=' Zimbabwe's best player averaged 29 with the ball :hysterical:[/quote'] How much NZ and WI best player in last 7 years average with ball ? How much Johnson averages?
