Hope Mithun is back, yes indeed. And Tyagi fit again. Had it been those two and not Ganapathy and Dhawal, the pace attack would have been a fair bit more potent. But he wont be back now that Ganapathy has joined the squad, I imagine.

This is the first hand account of Unadkad and a few observations on Indian team in particular from a West Indian fan who watched the match:

on Sat 12 Jun 2010' date= 13:26 Unadkat was extremely impressive, particularly in that he was equally effective from both over and around the wicket. The conditions have been a bit too favourable for the seamers in the morning though as India A have collapsed from 183/2 to 240/9, with fast bowling all rounder Andre Russell taking a 5 wicket haul. Morning session scores: Day 1: WI A 63/6 Day 2: India A 57/7 He has appeared from nowhere to make an FC century whilst taking lots of wickets in the last few weeks. India A do look a talented side though, I was very impressed with their bowling unit as a whole and their batting last night was extremely solid. They are an awful fielding side however, their throws from the boundary were hardly reaching the keeper whereas Windies A were absolutely firing them in. Just something for the Indian A coach to work on I think.:
So aweful fielding? What is new here?

Manoj Tiwary's ambition to play for the national side could soon be over if he doesn't stop the slide now. This tour is perhaps his last chance to get himself in the contention for a national spot in the future. Till now he hasn't really grabbed his chances though. Very disappointing for someone who in 2007 was hailed as the next big thing. Hope he can turn it around on this tour.

and throwing is more about strength and muscle power rather than skill....and strength wise Indian players are always weaker than others....we will have very few strong throwing arm player

India A v West Indies A at Croydon, Jun 17-20, 2010 This is the last FC match for Indians here I suppose as after this they'll be playing a number of List A matches. So what will the bowling combination for India today? Will Tyagi be available to play? Has BCCI sent a replacement for Saurav Tiwari? Will Unadkad or Kulkarni be able to take 20 wickets this time? Will Pandey click? Will Manoj Tiwari make one last ditch effort to save his flagging career? And poor Mithun! He missed this tour for warming benches in the Zim tour!! SCORECARD .

India A is batting and the current score is 97/1 Mukund got dismissed for 39 by Russel while Dhawan and Rahane are batting for 42 and 11 respectively. For some reason, stumps has already been called on Day One after just 28 overs. Can anyone tell us what the reason could be for that?

Either Cricinfo must have gone mad or the pitch must have suddenly become unplayable. The sun is shining brightly across the UK and I don't see any reason to call stumps this early.

Windies A eyeing better performance in second “Test†West Indies A will look for an improved performance when they face India A in the second four-day “Test” starting today in England. More... Windies A eyeing better performance in second “Test” By Stabroek staff | June 17, 2010 in Sports BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – West Indies A will look for an improved performance when they face India A in the second four-day “Test” starting today in England. The Caribbean side were completely outplayed in the opening fixture at Grace Road last week, going down by six wickets after their batting collapsed in both innings. Head coach Hendy Springer said yesterday that the defeat had been a learning experience and he was now looking forward to a better showing especially in certain areas. Debutant left-arm seamer Jaidev Unadkat grabbed 13 wickets in the match and Springer said they would be conscious of trying to counteract the 18-year-old. “They are things we’re looking at … mainly we’ve got to settle in and not go for any big shots,” Springer told CMC Sports in a telephone interview. “One of the other options … is moving out of the crease so they can get closer to the swing bowling because the guy (Unadkat) didn’t bowl a lot of short pitched deliveries. He was keeping the ball up and encouraging [the guys] to drive …” In the opening match, Windies A fell for scores of 144 in their first innings and after trailing by 147 on first innings, only managed to get up to 257 in their second innings thanks to an 80-run, ninth wicket stand between Imran Khan (62) and Gavin Tonge (46). Springer said despite the loss, there was much the squad could learn from, especially playing in different conditions. “I’m looking at it as a positive experience because it was overcast and that’s the kind of experience we’ve got to expose our guys to,” said the former Barbados off-spinner. “That’s the only way they are going to become familiar.” West Indies will look to some of their senior players for big scores and much of the responsibility will rest on their captain and opener Devon Smith, who has played 31 Tests. The obdurate Kraigg Brathwaite, who got 13 and 1 in the last game, will also be looking for runs while Andre Fletcher, with 15 One-Day Internationals to his name, will want to also get a score of merit. Unlike last week, the Caribbean side has trained in sunny weather this week and will be hoping for similar conditions to persist. The match will be played at Whitgift School in South Croydon. SQUADS: WEST INDIES A – Devon Smith (captain), David Bernard Jr, Omar Phillips, Lionel Baker, Kraigg Brathwaite, Andre Russell, Assad Fudadin, Odean Brown, Kirk Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Justin Guillen, Imran Khan, Gavin Tonge and Chadwick Walton. INDIA A – Cheteshwar Pujara (captain), Wriddhman Saha, Bipul Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Chandrasejar Ganapathy, Iqbal Abdulla, Kedar Jadhav, Jaskaran Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Abhinav Mukund, Mahish Pandey, Ajinkya Rahane, Manoj Tiwary, Saurabh Tiwary, Sudeep Tyagi and Jaidev Unadkat.

India A adds 101/3 wickets between lunch and tea. Dhawan was dismissed just after lunch on 43, Rahane departed on just 13 and Manish Pandey disappointed yet again by failing to score a half ton, though he did score 36. Skipper Pujara and Manoj Tiwari are at the crease, batting on 43 and 6 respectively. India A seems to be in a precarious position as they'd like to score at least 300 runs, by batting first. But why is cricinfo updating session by session?

Batsmen geting starts and then getting out. Hope some of them put up a good score in the 2nd innings. Final chance for Manoj Tiwary to do well here and remain in contention. Else its fast turning into a nightmarish tour for him. BTW why has a A tour match been scheduled at a school ground?
