"India are miles ahead of Pakistan" - Wasim Akram

Congratulations India! Once again the Men in Blue have proved to be better in crunch games than Pakistan in the recent past. It's all about pressure in India-Pakistan encounters and MS Dhoni's men did a good job to hold their nerves in a tense finish on Saturday. Dambulla is a difficult track to bat on because of its unevenness. You cannot hit on the front foot as the ball does all possible trickeries. It is not a very good one-day track, but I feel it's still fair to both sides. Pakistan though got off to a good start after electing to bat. The 71-run partnership between Salman Butt and Imran Farhat provided the perfect launch for the batsmen to follow. I thought Pakistan had a very good chance after posting 267, because in the second innings the ball swings and it also turns a bit. India were excellent in their response and survived a superb spell from off-spinner Saeed Ajmal (3-56) to knock Pakistan out of the tournament and ensure an India-Sri Lanka clash in the final. Gautam Gambhir once again showed his mettle at the top. I think Gambhir played a superb 83-run knock on a difficult pitch. Then Dhoni came in at No.4, leading from the front. I like Dhoni as a captain. He played an important innings of 56 alongside Gambhir. Suresh Raina, who I always say is a good player for India under pressure. The left-hander might not have clicked as a captain on the Zimbabwean tour, but he is the future of Indian cricket. With his 34-run cameo, Raina ensured that India's chase remains on track. And finally Harbhajan Singh showed that he has got nerves. The off-spinner was not overawed by the situation and had no respect for Shoaib Akhtar when he hit the pacer for a six. He has time and again performed well under pressure. Even in a couple of IPL matches, he helped Mumbai Indians get their target in the last 2 overs. In a nutshell, all this showed that the Indian team is miles ahead of the Pakistan. The one thing I don't get is why Pakistan did not play Ajmal in the opener against Lanka. Ajmal is a proven match-winner. How can you drop a guy who has won matches for you? You can't just drop him like that. It was a poor decision on the part of an experienced team management that has Waqar Younis, Shahid Afridi, Aquib Javed and Ejaz Ahmad. I hope Pakistan will learn the importance of team selection from this match and identify their potential match-winners. . http://www.espnstar.com/cricket/international-cricket/news/detail/item456923/%22India-are-miles-ahead-of-Pakistan%22/

Probably the only person who’s a bigger sell-out in world cricket today than Wasim Akram is Laxman Sivaramakrishnan. While Siva has spends his nights memorizing the technical specifications of the Micromax mobile or the optional extras on the Indigo Manza, Wasim is busy looking after his IPL prospects and his reality TV show contracts. Cant blame ‘em though – Everyone has a right to make their own living, however they choose to do it.

check's in the mail for being honest (with a dash of exaggeration) and for antagonizing your countrymen. is it just me or do we south asian nations demonize our heroes for being honest, especially when the honesty is a criticism of one's nation.

When Pakistanis Say Pak vs Ind records they mean Pak sucks against India in world cup games they mean india always trash their team in world cup games . Our bowlers are gud enough to take atleast 10 wickets whereas their phaast bowlers cant even take 10 wickets.

Exactly!! Now we will see all sorts of criticism of Akram on the padosis' site. P.S: I think he has done enough to retain his place in KKR for 2 more seasons:winky:

"Will"? Padosi forum is already full of vitriol against Wasim's entirely true comments and desperate, pathetic justifications of why their seventh ranked team is better than India :haha:
