bollinger and harris only quality bowlers in that squad and without harris' date='its a one man attack[/quote'] Yeh, they may aswell play Hazlewood ahead of McKay, I have only seen him a few times and have not been impressed, a bit like Bresnan but I dont think he can bat. Wouldnt be suprised to see Tait called up though.

So then. WHATS HAPPENING WITH AUSTRALIA!?!?! THEY HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO PLAYING "BOWLERS" LIKE CLINT MCKAY! HE IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!! 5 NO BALLS! WHAT IS THIS DISCIPLNE WE HAVE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT?

For the first time aussies looking no match to poms in any department and as I wrote in the title I see a white wash for the aussies and I dont how we manage to lose the series against pretty much same aussie eleven And also England lookin the real deal for the next world cup ,wat a outfit it has become
It is more a case of this (England getting much better) than the Aussies slipping, really. England are looking one hell of a limited overs team at the moment.

This Aussie attack is similar to the one that put a beat dung on India last year... And lets not start the "imported" players argument, jealousy.
I am not taking anything away from England -- but I will wait for my comments on England once they start playing well AND winning in countries -- that lie east of South Africa (except NZ)

lol no. i'm sure they will win atleast a couple and will probably win the series if theye are lucky. some of the selections for this tour have been made with an eye for the future. wouldn't reach too much in to it. they are still easily the best odi nation in the world.

Well, for me it is clear what the problem is... Ponting is always getting out so cheaply these days, it is not good for a player which is coming in at 3. We are always losing 3-4 wickets in a row, losing all the tempo the openers have created.. You'll see Ponting getting out cheaply, Clarke scoring so slow putting pressure on the other batsman.. White and Hussey have to much pressure put on them, both are exceptional.. Also, we are struggling with our bowling at this point in time.. I'd prefer to see Hazlewood playing over McKay, who I think should only be used in Australia.

Why is no one up in arms against Ponting he has scored 3 100s at an avg of 38 in nearly 2 and half years in 53 matches. Tendulkar has scored 5 hundreds and just 500 runs less in 27 matches at an avg of 65.68 compared to 53 matches for Ponting since the cb series finals in 2008. Aussie commentary team still addresses this guy as best batsman in the world for some reason. If this was Sachin who did this poorly Ian Chappell would be writing obituaries for Sachin like he did in 2007.

He never was an immortal player which Aussies and Ian chappell make him to begin with, Ricky Ponting has four golden years in his career in which he scored 24 test 100s If i am not wrong he was using Graphite bat then which was banned later,He sure had an immortal team to captain. he was never in the class of Tendulkar before that and after those four years.

Nah mate I think you're a bit off the mark there. He was amazing for us in his prime, he's just gone off it a little bit the last few years.

He was supposedly in his prime few years back and you say that he's just gone off it a little bit the last few years. So er... when exactly was he in his prime? Was it when Afridi was 18? Oh, wait... :((

I totally agree with you. He has become a baggage. Out of curiosity -- what is his average in the last 2 years? And how are the no-nonsense Aus selectors tolerating him ? Did they make an exception for Ponting. Shoes -- Hang --- Ponting -- anybody ?

:punter: : "A loss generally brings the best out of us."
Oh yeah :punter:???
If that's what you think take a look at the head-to-heads and see who has got bragging rights. ODI, Tests and Twenty20. Tell me who has got the bragging rights? --Ricky Ponting bristles when asked if England held the bragging rights following their win against Australia in the second ODI
