Lord's storm: Pakistan accuse referee Stuart Broad of bias toward Ricky Ponting over Mohammad Aamer bust-up

The Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Aamer was warned about his conduct after clashing with the Australia captain Ricky Ponting on the first day of the Lord's Test yesterday. Aamer was spoken to by the match referee Chris Broad at the close of play after he had collided with Ponting as he celebrated dismissing the Tasmanian for 26. Ponting appeared to jut out an elbow as he made contact with Aamer but neither on-field umpire felt the incident warranted any formal action under the ICC Code of Conduct. The umpires Rudi Koertzen and Ian Gould spoke to the Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi at the time and then advised Broad to have a word with Aamer.

but as per Chris B, players have their space and Amir went into Ponty space..this time Asif was standing and did not invade Ponty space ...ponty was the one who did what he did with his helmet... no need to talk to ponty..he is legend plus he is also white..

Ponting clearly elbowed Aamer intentionaly. Dont pretend that never happened. And Gambhir was banned for one test for a similar incident against the Aussies

so in your view Ponting has done nothing wrong, this is almost same as RP's case bowler getting exuberant after getting a big wicket, and invading batsman's space but Ponting had no business of shoving his elbow towards the bowler. so why is bowler getting called in and the batsman who initiated the contact gets nothing , it is more like Gambhir who used his elbow against Watson while taking a second run.but same match referee deemed it different wonder why?

No one has given me a satisfactory answer yet to how would have ponting known that Aamer would take a 90* degree turn when he was 2 inches away ? Also from the video its clear that they were so close that had ponting not moved his elbow, Aamer's elbow would have hit potining. Hating a player and a referee is one thing but its stupid to blindly ignore the fact that a 6.5 feet tall human was running towards a player and would have made a physical contact ( even if not , he was threatening to ).

Thats the whole point , he is not supposed to move out of the way of someone running towards him to celebrate/rub it in.
