SachDan Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 New Delhi: Saina Nehwal will recieve the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, the country's highest sporting honour on National Sports Day on August 29 in the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The 15-member panel on Friday took a unanimous decision to confer the current World No. 2 with the award. Saina was the first Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinals at the Olympics. She went on to win the World Junior Badminton Championships and capped a fine run with a hat-trick of wins clinching the Indonesian Open in 2009, the Singapore Open title in June, 2010, and the Indonesian Open a week later. :two_thumbs_up: She really deserves it!
