Should VVS bat at no 3 in the 2nd innings?

Why can't we be a little flexible with our batting lineup? Dravid had struggled for form on this tour, VVS has looked in better touch. I was expecting VVS to come at no 3 today, didn't happen. And then unfortunately, Dravid got out as well, ending a miserable tour for him!!

I would have sent Mithun and Ishant to open after seeing how the pitch loses all zip once the ball starts to get older. Chasing 250+ was was never going to be easy, so it was worth a punt to hope they could get through the first 10-15 overs. Yes, the strategy would have been labeled cowardly by quite a few but no less a batsman than Bradman has successfully implemented it. I always get a feeling there is a lot of room for innovation in the batting order in test matches, which captains never embrace.
