Jersey #10 Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 They said, Indians can not take 20 wickets. Some said 20 wickets in total for 3 tests would be an achievement and 20 wickets in one test is not possible. They said, India will never win a test match in SL with this bowling line up. A combination of good bowlers and the BEST batting line up has brought the name of India on the top of the ranks and have successfully retained it. I say India deserves to be #1 no matter what those OZ whiners have to say about it. What do you say now?
saneindian Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 The bowlers look bad whe they play on pattas. On fair wickets, they are as good/bad as any other attack. As for the number 1 rank, well we have a good enough lead over SA and Australia which will only et consolidated with likely series wins over Australia and NZ. Hopefully by the time we tour SA, we will have enough indemnity to save our number rank for the worst case scenario of losing that test series (though I am hopeful of a 2-1/2-0 win).

Don't be so cocky about Australia yet. Our bowlers have to fire against them.
achilles Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 We've done a good job in this series and we're only going to get stronger when Sreesanth & Zak return. Australia is going to face a torrid time if this is what our bowling looks like- 1. Zaheer Khan 2. Sreesanth 3. Ishant Sharma 4. Harbhajan Singh 5. Pragyan Ojha. Reserves- 1. Munaf Patel 2. Jaidev Unadkat 3. RP Singh 4. Praveen Kumar 5. Amit Mishra.
DomainK Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 I agree with transparent here. The Indian bowling unit is attacked before each and every test series. But whatever bowlers we are playing, we have been picking up 20 wickets consistently enough to sit on the no1 position.
