Fact of the matter is, you cannot prove anything one way or the other, using anecdotal evidence.

That's a lame point. Lets look at the two scenarios and see what option a captain would prefer in a super over: - A seamer bowls a good ball (a yorker), the opposition hits the ball along the ground and takes a run - A spinner bowls a good ball and the opposition hits the ball in the air. The ball could either sail for a 6 (or a 4) or get caught Most people who have ever captained a side at any level would pick the opposition getting singles of good balls in super over then actually hope that the batsman goes for big hits and gets out as with the boundary shortened, the pitch good for batting, 3 of the oppositions best hitters playing the super over, the chances of connecting a good ball and putting the ball over the ropes are pretty high than a wkt falling But as someone said, you probably listened to the commentary! :P

You do have a hard time reading stuff. I clearly said the likelihood of the spinner getting two wickets being higher becuase its easier for the batsmen to attack him MIGHT weigh on a captain's mind, when he takes a decision as to who's going to bowl. Could he get hit as well? Probably, but thats a risk a captain has to weigh in his mind and come to a decision.

The fact of the matter is, choosing Ashwin to bowl against David Hussey, who has a clear preference of spinnners versus pacers is probably a bad choice in the end. But as always, its easy for any one to sit back after the fact and pronounce judgments. A classic case to the point - Gavaskar's loooooooooooooooooong rant about how Dhoni should NOT have chosen Ashwin after he conceeded all the runs. Where was his wiseman's words when the original decision to bring on Ashwin was made? He was on commentary during that time but didnt utter a single syllable in protest.
