i dont understand why everyone keeps talking about his captaincy. that is not the issue here. ganguly was a good captain but was removed because of poor form. the same should be applied here. it just takes an average captain to manage a team of matchwinners. its not a specialist position.

We were a Very Good Test team before MSD took over. But very por ODI side. His contribution has been immensely in ODI team' date= He did OKish for the Test team as we already had a great team. The team we had before MSD had won Test series in England, in 2004 we drew series in Aus which was the No-1 team then.(We were much more dominant than the result suggests). His contribution to test team as a captain will get praises only when we tour England and take the series again, and Tour the 2nd best team in the World that is SA and do what we did in 2004 in AUS.

Already mentioned the Period when RD took over was pretty bad. Though the 2 Series wins we have outside Asia in last so many years Came under him. How much have Dhoni won away from Asia? Well only Hapless NZ. We can talk about how great he is once he plays SA, AUS,ENG away. Talking about the Tours in SL, SA, AUS. The team we played in SL was much more superior to what we played now, so was a difficult tour. Mendis looked unplayable, you can blame Captain for that. About SA in SA and AUS in their backyard. We drew in 2004 and could have drawn in 2008 too in AUS had not been Bucknor. SA playing away is the biggest ever test for any captain, the Only test we won in SA was under RD. MSD have to beter or equal all that. Then only we can talk about him being how great his leadership skills are.

Dhoni with his bizzare captaincy has never convinced me. But that's alright with me as far as people don't overhype him like he's taken the team into a different level and **** like that.
