ZodiaC Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I guess Dhoni would be very close to sach in terms of overall contribution to indian cricket by the time he retires. Don_corleone & vaibhav_delhi Stop troaling in the other threads and troal here. Just for the lulz :giggle:
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Can we edit the title adding Names of Don and Vaibhav?
Serani Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Well its obvious Doh ni is actually the best ODI batsman as his average clearly indicates he is superior to this Sachin chap.
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 In terms of Class and coring all over the world in Pressure Situations in ODIs My Order of Batsmen. Only included players who i have seen in last 20 Years. SRT SG RD VS YS MSD. Here is my list, If anyone disagrees kindly bring in stats to counter that.

YS and VS is actually tough, maybe I will rate UV ahead of Viru, albeit marginally. Rest the same.
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 YS and VS is actually tough' date=' maybe I will rate UV ahead of Viru, albeit marginally. Rest the same.[/quote'] VS has faired bit beter in Tournament Finals than YS IIRC . Else its very difficult to chiose between the two as both of them have been average in this Form of the game.
jusarrived Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Dhoni is the first player I would pick into the Indian side , without him we will lose mnore than we win .

Else its very difficult to chiose between the two as both of them have been average in this Form of the game. But UV in his prime has played countless match winning knocks. :dontknow: But TBF to Viru, he sets us the platform so can't blame him for not playing much under pressure knocks.
jusarrived Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 as match winners Dhoni Tendulkar Ganguly Yuvi Dravid Raina Viru
ZodiaC Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 as match winners Dhoni Tendulkar Ganguly Yuvi Dravid Raina Viru Wow. No words really.
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 as match winners Dhoni Tendulkar Ganguly Yuvi Dravid Raina Viru Care to bring in stats?
jusarrived Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Care to bring in stats? which ones ? am not a stats man ..but am pretty sure Dhonis avg in Indias wins & more so while chasing is better than most .
King Tendulkar Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 as match winners Dhoni Tendulkar Ganguly Yuvi Dravid Raina Viru You clearly have just arrived if you think Dhoni is ahead of Sachin!
don_corleone840 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Dhoni has been no 1 in icc rankings for more than 1 year.As far as i know yuvi, sehwag, dravid or ganguly have never been at top. dhoni has two icc odi player of the year award . soo he is clearly best batsman india ever produced after sachin in odis and greatest wk batsman of all time.
Andy Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 which ones ? am not a stats man ..but am pretty sure Dhonis avg in Indias wins & more so while chasing is better than most . I think both Tendulkar and Ganguly have been more sucesful than him in Tournament Finals and in WCs. Dhoni may have done well in Bilateral series, But he is not that good as them in Tournament Finals, Semifinals and WC matches. I'll bring in stats to prove that ASAP. Plus Dhoni is nowhere comparable to both Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid as he cant score in Places like SA, Eng.

ZodiaC Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 which ones ? am not a stats man ..but am pretty sure Dhonis avg in Indias wins & more so while chasing is better than most . Great logic. Take those not outs out and the average goes from 115.93 to 33.44 :winky: (Just to point out the difference, hope you got the point) He almost has as many not outs as Sachin has till date.

Not to forget the tontee tontee world cup and zee ezz kay winning Champions league..

Never claimed he was a better batsmen , hes only played more useful knocks than any of these players . & am sure by filtering stats to your convenience Tendulkar can be proved to be better ..like you said , tournament finals , WCs etc .
