And this isn’t just some random stat out of a random series. This is over a period of 4 years which is a MASSIVE sample space. Yet, we keep picking 3 specialist seamers and just one specialist spinner in our team.

He should not really be leading the WC attack (or one of the main bowlers). Thats big trouble. And, yes, we do need to get two spinners in the attack. This data is very clear, and Munaf Patel was a surprise too. I hope, for some folks, Sir Aggy is a surprise too.

I agree. and the last time the world cup was in the subcontinent Sri Lanka won with only 2 specialist pacers and I don't think they ever even finished their 10 over quotas. I under stand that the game has changed a lot but its bizzare that they never even tried expirementing going with just 2 specialist pace bowlers. A Ojha and Bhajji/ashwin combo could choke the runs and put a lot of pressure on batsman even on very flat wickets.

I have pointed that out like a zillion times in my dump nehra thread.:headshake: In effect we have been playing 2 spinners as Jadeja seen as second spinner and actually has decent record as bowler. Maybe we should have oijha and bhaji and jaddu!
