Would Sehwag be able to replicate super consistency in ODIs like Tests (esp. for WC2011)

Sehwag is scoring run-a-ball century as though it is child's play in Test matches :weebee: But somehow in ODIs he tries "extra" hard and then finds a way to get himself out. I think if he can score carefully the first 30-40 runs in ODIs (say even at a S/R of 70), then he will be unstoppable and can up the S/R to get a 100 off 100 balls. This will be super if he can replicate the consisteny to ODIs for WC2011 esp. when Yuvi is in iffy form.

No one scores 30-40 runs @70 these days...not even Clarke :headshake:

S/R 70 is not the point. What I'm trying to say is that - he sometimes tries extra because there is Powerplay, field restrictions etc. But if he plays his simple, calm batting, there is no reason he cannot have a much better average and consistency in ODIs

He recently acknowledged this change of heart, if you may, which led him to score consistently in SL. Viru, Sachin, Gambhir, Yuvi, Dhoni, Raina, Pathan (Y/I...either will do)...each and every one of these fellows is capable of scoring at an SR >= 100 in ODIs...what a line up! We'll have no one but ourselves to blame if we don't win the cup this time.

Even if his rate of scoring remains the same, the guy is actually maturing with time. The reckless shots he used to fall to have reduced and his shot selection has vastly improved. He has been working hard to improve where he can and I am sure that will reflect in his ODI performances.
