There are several points of interest in this case: 1. Why did he not go to the PCB? Does he feel that the PCB is in league with the bookies and the goons who threatened him? 2. Why did he not go to the Dubai police in stead of running away to the UK? Does he think the Dubai police in in league with the bookies and the goons? 3. Why did he not go the Pakistani law enforcement? Cant he trust them either? 4. Why UK? Whats special there? Why not seek asylum in Dubai itself? Why not some other country? 5. How many cricketers or their families have been bodily harmed because they refused to comply? Or do all cricketers throw matches for money and Haidar is the only exception? There is a possibility that it was not just about fixing, but about bullying a guy out of the side because someone else wants the keepers position. There is a possibility that the bookies went to exceptional levels with this particular guy because they want someone else back in that position.
