fineleg Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Good to see some thinking captaincy. Thinking on the field, as also the homework done ahead of time Thats what captains and coaches are paid for. They knew Dravid and Laxman and set fields to constrict them, Tendulkar too. This is good ol' fashioned homework and analysis by Vettori, Greatbatch and co.
Ranjha Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 when dravid is playing based on current form, you dont need to do homework..he is stuck in a hole..doesnt play cuts or pulls...slows the proceedings...he might score a hundred but the game will oly be good for a draw by then. sachin tendulkar getting out was a big loss for India.
Ranjha Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 all hopes on the INDIAN SAVIOUR time after time........VVS LAXMAN
Sid Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Nothing special, just having a mid on ,mid off and point fielder to tempt batsmen to go over the top and not give away easy singles but we are playing for a draw so our kaptaan got affected even by a single boundary and pushed the fielders back as soon as possible, thats what you call a cool stratedgy
Sid Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 and oh.. yeah Dravid plays like this to draw the matches in the first innings and when the situation is there to draw a match,he gets out quickly in the second innings(talking about the last 3-4 years)
Ranjha Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 and oh.. yeah Dravid plays like this to draw the matches in the first innings and when the situation is there to draw a match' date='he gets out quickly in the second innings(talking about the last 3-4 years)[/quote'] agree but dravid now hits first ball boundary...maybe he read the posts on this forum during the lunch.:haha:

fineleg Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 BTW - excellent fielding by NZ in the match. Shows their intent, brilliant commitment. The commitment that NZ is putting into the game is amazing, and thats why despite their lower talent and despite the conditions in India being more of an advantage to the Indian team, the NZ are able to make India struggle. G_M: the paid-for was just a phrase I used, did not mean separate payment for capt.
King Tendulkar Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Vettori had a shocker. Only did his homework up to number 7:hysterical:
Roshanrocks Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 what happened to Vettori's homework for the 10th wicket :hitler:

fineleg Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Folks - bowling plans will be put in place only for the main batsmen, I dont think most teams will have bowling plans against tailenders. Now that bhajji is showing consistency with the bat, other teams may start planning against him. Otherwise most teams will work the plans out for the established main batsmen. And for newcomers like Pujara or Kane Williamson - it will take a while before the opposition will start to have specific and well-made plans for him once they understand the strengths and weaknesses.
punjabi_khota Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 What the FUUCK is this whiner's obsession with stretched out thread titles and random peppering of bold words. My estimate of her IQ has taken a beating bigger than Dhoni's form. I would guess 75 would be pushing it. All you see in her posts is things out of the "list of things even captain obvious wouldn't say", combined with generous contribution from "how to prematurely make threads leading to egg-fry on your face 20 minutes later"
