After all the jokers who have been debuting as batsmen for Pakistan, think they have finally unearthed someone decent in Azhar Ali - willing to fight it out for his runs instead of the usual "close eye ..swing willow" technique. Some hope for Pakistan yet...

As Dhon_Zone said' date=' pretty much reminds me of Akash chopra. Solid defense, and unlike sloggers like Umar Akmal. Plays pretty sensibly.[/quote'] Ya he is a Pak version of AAkash Chopra and definatley is better than other Pak jokers with the bat

true...Umar Akmal is pretty much an Afridi who can't bowl.. wouldn't be sounding the trumpet on that one..:haha:
More like a poor man's Ashraful. Certainly not as bad as Afretard.

If he is not flashy, does not hit sixes and does not have wavvy hair, he is not going to be popular with the fans and in turn with the selectors. I havent watched him play, but if he is that good, I hope he stays around for sometime.

Lets see how he's treated by the great PCB. Couple of good performances => Vice Captain => Captain => thrashing while touring Australia/elsewhere => charges of not being team player, possibly corrupt => dropped => retire => selected hence un-retire => Step 3 (captain again) Can they break this lunatic flow of events ?

the next 'inzamam' in the making. hopefully he is well aware of rules pertaining to ball handling, climbing into stands with a bat in hand, extended bathroom breaks resulting in forfeited test matches, bizarrely falling onto the stumps while trying to sweep the ball and asking for a referral, and most importantly the consequences of eating unlimited quantities of aloo parathas.

Looks like a strokeless wonder to me from whatever i have seen.
seemed more like.."I'll be outta this side if I don't score a 50" kindof a controlled innings.... anyway it is the attitude to stay and fight which makes him stand-out among the current Pak young crop of batters

what about playing countless innings under pressure! having an awesome stats on paper! a controvercy free off the field career (on the field its every players rite to have sum aggressiveness and his own point of view) :--D he is not even a shadow of inzy! its just he has good defence! he will succeed only if he sticks to his plan and by developing over time!
