Shane Shillingford reported for suspect action Shane Shillingford, the West Indies offspinner, has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action following the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. He will have to undergo testing within 21 days. Shillingford will have to submit to an independent analysis of his bowling action, which must be conducted by a member of the ICC panel of human movement specialists within 21 days. If he is found to have bowled with an illegal action during the analysis, Shillingford will be suspended from bowling in international cricket until he undertakes remedial action and is reassessed. Until the WICB receives a report of the assessment, however, Shillingford will be allowed to continue bowling in international cricket, which means he will be available for selection for the second Test against Sri Lanka that begins on November 23 in Colombo. The analysis of Shillingford's action revealed that his mean elbow extension was 17 degrees, which is above the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the laws. Shillingford can apply for re-assessment of his action after he has modified it. Should he choose to appeal against the decision, he must lodge written notification with the ICC within 14 days of receiving the report. Shane Shillingford, the West Indies offspinner, has been cleared by the ICC to resume bowling at international level after undergoing remedial work on an illegal action.

So, unlike Ajmal, Shane action was indeed legal and was not cleared. He is only allowed to bowl after changing his illehal action
