Yadav in Test squad, Gambhir to lead in NZ ODIs

India have picked wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and seamers Umesh Yadav and Jaidev Unadkat for the three-Test series in South Africa that begins on December 16 in Centurion. Zaheer Khan makes a return to the squad after being ruled out of the ongoing third Test against New Zealand after due to a groin strain, but he, along with four other senior players, will miss the five-match ODI series against New Zealand as they've been given a break ahead of the South Africa tour. Gautam Gambhir will lead the ODI team in the absence of MS Dhoni, who had said he will request the BCCI for rest after playing non-stop since the tour of Sri Lanka earlier in the year. Only CI is reporting about the selection of team for SA test series, haven't yet seen any news channel report that. But Saha's selection for ODI series vs kiwis is confirmed.

WTH Uthappa not given a chance as keeper I would have preferred Raina as captain, but then Gambhir is a senior pro and deserved it more. Another ODI series skip by Sachin before the WC, very nice. I just hope he doesn't screw up at the WC going in without any form or practise

Three cheers for consistency. Dhawan gets ONE ODI to prove how good or not he is and then promptly dropped. Hope Raina is given a break after first 2 matches, he too should have gone too SA with the 'seniors' Same with Mithun after Sl tour. No logic at all really

Tiwary, Jadeja, Ashwin, Munaf, and Yusuf under the scanner. If they do well, their chances to be in the WC squad increase. Uthappa seems to be out of the picture now.

i dont get what Mithun has done wrong.He could have been real useful on the bouncy pitches in SA when he has shown to bowl a good bouncer!!!.Unadkat will never get a game,i dont agree with his selection at all. i agree with the yusuf selection though.If he has some good matches then we could get rid of adeja or not even consider him for the WC.

he wont make it to SA if he plays in the odis,he has maybe 2 more games before his scheduled injury timeout.These selectors have dropped the ball big time.

Pathetic to say the least Jadeja , Yusu gets chances after Chances and we see Dhawan, and Mithun being dropped. Tyagi is a Pathetic bowler.
