This was probably the best display of football I have seen from Barca ever. But this definitely is not the be all and end all for Madrid, they most certainly will bounce back and I would still bet on Madrid to win the league. Unlike a few years ago when they Eto'o and Henry, even last year David Villa was scoring goals, however he is injured now and there is no real replacement. Sanchez is ok but he is a winger not a world class goal scorer...Fabregas cant be expected to score much in that false no 9 role he is not a striker either... Also with Abidal gone there is no left back, Adriano is a useful squad player but cant play him at LB ina big game like this. They need backup, this was a problem last year but their obsession with marquee signings like Fabregas instead of common sense ones has come back to haunt them. Did the same mistake when he bought Zlatan. Pep is simply not good in the transfer market. At all. With Pique injured Mascherano had to play CB. He has done well to be fair but you could tell he struggled against Drogba, and in all likelihood will again.Wheres the backup defenders. They have some good talent like Tello and Isaac Cuanca in attacking positions, no defenders though. Buy a Left back Pep- Alba from Valencia and Vertonghen a class CB who can play LB if needed. Heck they had a shots on target count of 24 but could not convert even one. that is where someone like a Villa would have been really handy. They have got wonderful playmakers like Iniesta,Fabregas(who is more of an attacking midfielder) and Messi, but the support to Messi when i comes to conversion is pretty bleak.
