Ponting is such an awesome player under pressure

The notion of 4th innings being pressure-intense always comes from the fact that pitches tend to wear and tear in the first 3 days. 2nd inn collapses are not out of the ordinary in test cricket. That is why chasing 250+ in the 4th innings is pretty difficult. These days the pitches being laid and prepared hurriedly, the wearing is slowing down and 4th inn batting is becoming easier. Bowling in the first inning is very difficult compared to 2nd because the pressure of runs on the batting is enormous. Batsmen will have to take more chances to score faster to chase huge 1st inning totals and bowlers get wickets because of the added pressure of runs.
