maniac Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Watching some of our new players play especially in Foregin pitches may be Jaddu was not the worst player to play for India in the last few years. Maybe Jaddu is the next Ricky Ponting with an added advantage of his awesome off-spin.Just like how Ponting is a failure on Indian tracks and not so great in T20's maybe Jaddu will be a revelation on these bouncy SA pitches. He can atleast dry up runs unlike the other jokers in our team ala Harbhajan,Unadkat and Sreeshanth. Maybe Jaddu is not good playing on Indian pitches,I would demand Jadeja to be sent to SA right now.I am sure he can bowl better than bhajji and bat better than Raina.Just imagine the morale boost Dhoni will get when Jadeja is in the squad. This thread is a result of the frustration, embarrassment that the Indian team has subjected me to in the last 2 days.I expected the bowling to let us down but even the batting has been a nightmare.
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 We wont advance anywhere as a bowling unit until the day someone has the balls to drop Dartbhajan.

We cannot blame India in the first innings calamity. They simply did not have match practice. They are not used to this pitches and these kind of bowlers in India or Asia. I am not finding this as an excuse but only saying that they will learn in the next 2 tests. I can already observe GG playing forward instead of getting stuck in the crease. This is a good sign. We cannot expect miracles without any practice matches. Administrators are to blame.
maniac Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 We cannot expect miracles without any practice matches. Administrators are to blame. Us fans are not expecting any miracles already but the major factor missing in the first innings in both batting and bowling was the grit to fight it out. Yes practice matches are always a huge factor and obviously these are alien conditions but what was dissapointing was that there was no gameplan from the teammanagement,Captain,Batsman, bowlers.
ZodiaC Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Bhajji was nowhere near great, but still I don't think he bowled as poor too. He did bowl well and got some bounce early on (and nearly got amla) but we really shouldn't have let them take easy single after getting the breakthroughs.
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Okay' date=' let's drop Bhajji, which other spinner should replace him who would contribute with the bat as well when our top batsmen choke? instead of calling names like a retard...pick your choice and write to BCCI :--D[/quote'] So what incase our batting fails, we have to focus on a batting allrounder who can spin? Leading to Harbhajan being retained in the team.........if thats the case then we will never have that edge we need. Why dont we do that to our trundlers as well then? We will have batters from 1 -11, guaranteed fool proof method in case our top order collapses.
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Alrite then...who is your pick to replace Bhajji? Ohja He cant get a decent role unless the pitch is absolute patta and have to play a max of 2 trundlers.
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 What about Ashwin? I think he bowls very well. Yes, but he should play against some minnows in tests before being upgraded to playing against big teams.
someone Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 What about Ashwin? I think he bowls very well. Then what about Jadeja, he bowls very well .
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Then what about Jadeja' date=' he bowls very well .[/quote'] He does especially in ODI's, but in Tests I doubt he can be effective in taking wickets. He might stop the runs, but wickets are more important in tests.

As both are unknown, so hard to tell. but the fact is both Ashwin and Jadeja have a good record domestically and very similar in stats.
IKnowU Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Exactly but some people turn a blind eye to Jaddu. :headshake:
