Poor cricket from England' date='[b'] they should give away some easy runs to AUS and get out cheaply to make it interesting for Sir John.
They should win it but they should not consider themselves to be world no 1 just because they've defeated this poor Aussie team.

I cannot believe this is the Aussie team I grew up watching. The way they have repeatedly capitulated spinelessly in this series has been amazing. How do they manage to get bowled out for such low totals on tracks that are nowhere near challenging? I will even venture to say that the Bangladeshi batting unit would have scored more runs than the Aussie unit against the English attacks. It is clear as crystal that several components of their batting unit are either well past their prime or, their batting talents are on the wane. It is hard to believe that this is the same Philllip Hughes, who only two years ago, was heralded as the next batting talent to emerge from Australia. The dude looks completely clueless. Its one thing to have a deficient technique (which he has), but he has looked completely lost out there, as though he doesn’t know what it is, to, construct a test innings, opening the batting. Michael Clarke obviously seems to have a 1000 other things going on in his mind, he probably needs a break. Hussey has done what Hussey always does – score runs at crucial junctures, but I cannot see him carrying on in this vein for too long. Ponting.. well, what can one say about him? He looked reasonably good in the 2 tests against India, but now, he seems to have lost the edge that made him the batting colossus he once was. Shane Watson is probably the only guy, along with maybe Haddin, who will emerge from this series with his pride intact. Australia needs a major overhaul of their team. You hate to make any major pronouncement, especially after the way guys like Ganguly, Sachin etc have resurrected their test careers, but its time for Ponting to go, or at least step down as the skipper. The rot has set too deep to reverse course now. Publicly, the Aussies team members are still rallying around their captain, but you somehow feel that this admiration is more a product of their pre-series PR briefings where there were instructed not to tell anything even remotely controversial, than out of real respect for their captain. The Aussie team is going nowhere and that has been the case for a while now. Its like a ship anchored in the sea, an easy target for any oncoming storm. Its time to break the shackles, change course and move on.

We do need to make changes after this series and they have to be big ones. We can't go on in this vein if we want to get back up to being one of the best in the world. We've been introducing youngsters on the ODI scene for a while now and that's been going alright for us, we are still *1 in the world there.

Its good that boring test end so early, bresnan gets most wickets. trott batted well. steven smith role in oz team is a big joke. punter need to announce retirement before last test. by the way how much rating point engt will get? :bubblegum:
