Pour moi, the BG Trophy 2000/01 is head shoulders above anything that was put on display in this decade. Just for the way we came back from a near impossible position to win the Kolkatta Test and follow it up with a terrific nail-biter the teams put up in Chennai was well...AWESOME. I got a soft corner for the Trans-Tasman Trophy 2001/02 as well. The Kiwis played some outstanding cricket throughout the series. Yes, they were helped by rain in the second Test but they were also denied what could have been a memorable series win thanks to an umpiring blunder from Ian Robinson. Here goes my ranking:

  1. BG Trophy 2000/01
  2. The Ashes 2005
  3. BG Trophy 2007/08
  4. SA in Oz 2008/09
  5. Trans-Tasman Trophy 2001/02
  6. Oz in SA 2009
  7. BG Trophy 2009/10

Regarding Ashes 2005,both matches which England won were against Aus minus Mcgrath. And Edbagston match should have been won by Australia.Had Mcgrath played he would probably have crushed Eng just as he had done in the 1st match of that series. Since 1999(when Mcgrath really developed as a world class bowler) he was involved in only 9 test defeats,3 each against Ind and WI and one each against Lanka,Eng and RSA. Ind defeated a full Aussie team in a 16 match winning streak(probably the greatest team in history) from nowhere. Ashes 05 however will come 2nd in my list.

in 03 series India won a test in aus both warne and mcgrath were missing; can we go ahead and discredit our win aswell.

England would have beaten Oz (+McG) in the 3rd Test, if not for Ponting's brilliant match saving inns and not 'cause of McG's presence.
