Dhoni has been awesome - but once again this comparison business is non-sense. Besides - why do not you ask Sachin/Dhoni/Kumble/Gavaskar/Kapil who has been best-ever captain?

Being best captain/leader is not a popularity contest. You think a public poll is the final verdict on such skills as leadership? In terms of polls - on a given day MSD might lose even to Poonam Pandey.

In fact he is better than any other Indian cricket captain I have seen at getting the best out of his players which sets him apart.

Exactly what I have been saying last 3 years. Strange that BCCI and ICC hoodwinked us into all that celebration to lift it's own stock and we bought that crap of winning a WC..... The advertising sponsors took advantage of our public's imagination and gullibility and made a killing. The real WC is played every 4 years and so Dhoni has only won us 1 WC and not 2. That T20 cup win at best is another Champion's Trophy.

Its not like ganguly picked up an unadkat and transformed him into a zaheer... Good thing is that ganguly persisted with the ones he thought were talented which is the same what dhoni does.....

We all know how the team was before Ganguly took over and how the team changed after Ganguly took over. So you should give creedit where it is due. As of Building a Team is concerned, There is no Comparision with Dhoni and Ganguly, Ganguly Astronomical Years ahead.

The number of his Failures are Lot more, than the Number of Players succeeded Under him for Given a Long run. Biggest thing that goes with Ganguly is that he brought in Debutants, players of 20-21, Challenged the Best.

If, according to your logic, a batsman making a 100 can affect the team winning % (you know who the batsman is:winky:), then certainly the Captain can, through his leadership skills affect the performance of the youngsters for the better ??

Kaif and Yuvraj used to play ahead of Laxman?
