saneindian Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Because they are old? COME AT ME BRO, COME AT ME So they are old and they will retire, is no Ifs and Butts. But batsman X is in form and will go out of form, is If and butt. As I said, logic and you and blah blah blah...
vvvslaxman Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Because they are old? COME AT ME BRO, COME AT ME Your team should be good enough to beat when other teams are their best. Not when other teams are weak. :) . Even in Ashes 2005 England beat Australia in 2 tests that Mcgrath didn't take part. Basically Stewart and Vaughan agree that they are incapable of beating others when they are strong.
dr_tooley Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Vaughan & Stewart are right on the money.India will also suffer the decline which the Aussies are going through right now. No team just cannot replace big name stars right away. What a shame Stewart and Vaughan weren't as good at batting as they seem to think they are futurology. I do note that Stewart has given his predictions an 18 month window. This gives enough time for England to under perform in the WC, be beaten at home and away by India and still leave enough time for them to hopefully play a depleted SA team at home. Although, Mr Stewart, I would contend that as Kallis only averages 29 in England, I don't see him giving up a chance to correct this. Steyn by contrast will still be at full strength. Vaughan is even smarter but giving no time frame for his prediction. Although I do note Swann and Strauss aren’t getting any younger.
simba28 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 The English have thrown caution to the wind by destroying Australia on their home turf, so the excitement among English media is understandable. What i would love to see right now is a three way battle between India SA and Eng but alas we would have to settle for an Indian vs Eng series next yr. It would be a tough fight.. providing Indian seniors don't burn themselves out after those stupid IPL games. England def has potential, but I am sure India is not be ready to give up their beloved crown just yet!!
Desi Cartman Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Can he explain how/why he expects SAF to go downhill ? Boucher hasnt done much with the bat ( except last innings ) .. and kallis can play for another 2-3 years ( or even longer if he stops bowling ) As for India, in foreign conditions our seamers arent too bad and as for batting, I think M Vijay can replace RD and there is Pujara and Kohli waiting for other sopts. BTW its amazing that he concedes that Eng cant beat ANY quality side till they lose their key players :cantstop: ...
