Mediocre bowling attack????? The myth of how bad or bowling is just gets bigger and bigger.
half the indian bowling attack - zaheer and harbhajan - is in the top 10 of the ICC rankings but dont expect the chxthiya fair weather indians on this forum to understand that :hysterical:
Yeah dudes, you know what? The attacks we played in SL and against NZ had so much fire in them - I mean how dare anyone call Ishant bowling short and wide mediocre. Oh, BTW, he was the attack leader.

India played 14 tests in 2010 - in 8 of them either one of Zaheer or Harbhajan was missing. In 6 when both were there, Zaheer broke down mid way in 2 of them. I suggest you seek admission in kindergarten to learn counting before making statements.

^ Yeah what you have proven is that by saying, 'mentioning one or two tests doesnt change the fact that dhoni almost always has the services of two top 10 ranked bowlers at his disposal' you had no idea that during the last year Dhoni had the services of both during an entire test 4/14 times! :hysterical:

nothing like a bit of selective amnesia to prolong a bullshit argument... since u are an expert at counting, u should also be able to count the number of matches captained by dhoni as being 24, and count that harbhajan and zaheer have played in 18 of them. so amazingly enough!!!!!!!!! :omg::omg::omg: he HAS had the services of two top 10 bowlers for most of his captaincy career...

^ No, that was not your point. If it was justify the factually incorrect statement ie. lie 'mentioning one or two tests doesnt change the fact that dhoni almost always has the services of two top 10 ranked bowlers at his disposal'

South africa has the best bowling lineup in the world, With the top 2 ranked bowlers in the world (steyn n morkel) always playing for them in the last 2 years. Still, i think, they have won only 1 of their last 5-6 test series. SA and english bowling is better than ours and our best 2 bowlers havent played many matches together in the last year. So you cant take away the fact that dhoni is a marvellous captain and one of the greatest ever in the history of cricket, irrespective of the bowling lineup, he can work and win with whatever bowlers he is given. Depth of indian fast bowling is not great as we know it.

Just to add a perspective Throughout the 2000s we have had Bhajji and Kumble in the top 10 bowler rankings almost all the times. And there have been periods when we had Srinath, Zaheer, Irfan etc in top 10 or at no. 11-12 etc. So wonder what exactly the point is.

Are you saying that without ZK or Bhaji in the side we are mediocre bowling attack? Or are you going by your OP which has no such caveat and is saying that even with everyone fit including bhaji and zk that we still have a medicre bowling attack?

The OP did not have any caveats because it was my understanding that people who have followed Indian cricket would know that on a lot of occasions we have fielded mediocre attacks due to injuries. It was meant for people with a bit of common sense, not for people who start jumping up and down, 'Look, look Zaheer.....look, look Harbhajan, top 10 bowlers' without even knowing that only in 4/14 tests in 2010 did Dhoni have both start to finish.

Then you talk about history and stats on how many times bowlers played etc Please clarify! Are you saying that with ZK and Bhaji in the attack that we have a mediocre bowing attack as your OP says? A simple yes or no will suffice!
