Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 How about dropping Bhajji :hmmm: You must be joking right...Te guy bowled beautifully in Sa except last 2 odis and he bats better than raina, yuvi and dhoni atm.
Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Only thing saving MSD is his captaincy. I agree he wot be dislodged for this wc but he will truly be droppable if his batting doesnt pick up. Thats the only reason I put up his name. But he is definately safe for the wc.
spectre Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 You are the joke, when you made this thread... You must be joking right...Te guy bowled beautifully in Sa except last 2 odis and he bats better than raina' date=' yuvi and dhoni atm.[/quote']
Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 You are the joke' date=' when you made this thread...[/quote'] FAIL Look at the poll result...your beloved Raina is leading the poll so majority agrees with me.
Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 These 5 must be in the starting xi as batsman. Rest wont be too shocking. Sachin Sehwag Gauti Kohli Pathan
Chaos Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 These 5 must be in the starting xi as batsman. Rest wont be too shocking. Sachin Sehwag Gauti Kohli Pathan Sachin Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan Harbhajan NOW THAT ONE HECK OF A BATTING LINE UP. We can switch raina with yuvi depending on form. But either way... stunning line up... everyone is beyond 83-85 strike rate.

Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 There's also the slight matter of his keeping :nervous: No, this is a non-issue...There are other keeper batsmen who are batting better than him based on current atm. But him being a captain makes him not so easy to dislodge him mpre than his keeping.
Sachin=GOD Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 FAIL Look at the poll result...your beloved Raina is leading the poll so majority agrees with me. the majority on ICF may agree with you but I can guarantee you this - MS Dhoni won't agree with dropping Raina because he's a proven performer and can be lethal on Indian pitches and someone like Yuvi in his current form is a liability so he won't be in the team.
King Tendulkar Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Dropping Raina is a shocking move. He is hopless in SA conditions and if WC in SA should not be in squad. BUT WC is INDIA. He loves those pitches. I tell you him coming in at 7 or 6 with 8 overs to go in power plays is destructive. We would miss his cows in to row xx. Such a dangerous player in last 10 overs. Has to play no matter how awful he was in this odi series

If it comes down between yuvi and raina- i can bet my life savings he will drop raina atleast to atart off with.
IKnowU Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Dont worry someone will get injured and it will all work out fine.

Sachin=GOD Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 If it comes down between yuvi and raina- i can bet my life savings he will drop raina atleast to atart off with. the CSK connection will work in Raina's favor :haha:
Holysmoke Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Dont worry someone will get injured and it will all work out fine. Sachin:nervous:
Ranjha Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 the CSK connection will work in Raina's favor :haha: Yuvi is a senior player and have longer history with dhoni and team management. His wc experience will also be useful.
gaurav92 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 You must be joking right...Te guy bowled beautifully in Sa except last 2 odis and he bats better than raina' date=' yuvi and dhoni atm.[/quote'] Na not kidding, in fact if you look at hajji's performance in the last one year, he has averaged almost 41, and OTOH Yuvi has avg. just a shade over 32, so Bhajji clearly been off colour, and if in a series of 5 games if you have a couple of good games, where is the consistency factor ? And you also say that Bhajji can bat better than Dhoni, raina and Yuvi, I say this is a joke :hehe: Bhajji is a handy lower order bat and thats about it.I seriously hope that we play in an extra batsmen, rather than depending on Bhajji to be the aggressor, and clearly he isn't aggressive as a premier spin bowler, Yuvi has bowled much better lines than him.If he is selected, I am sure he will go for runs, mark my words ;)
VRV Singh Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 It's a big call, I don't think any option is perfect. Drop Yuvraj and we lose our best 5th bowler (by a mile, may I add) which is crucial even with an out of sorts bat. Raina goes and we lose an occasionally decent spin option, great fielding and proven Indian pitch massacre (again, out of sorts). Drop Kohli and we've dropped one of the best in the world...plus another very good fielder. Though this is negated if you're looking at him as Raina's alternative. We have to assume now that Pathan has no.7 in the bag. tbh I would lean towards leaving Raina out for now but it's all very :hmmm: Would not blame Dhoni or selectors whichever way they go. They have to weigh things up
Fontaine Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 You can keep dreaming but Gambhir and Kohli will both play at numbers 3 and 4 respectively. They'll be followed by Dhoni' date=' Yuvraj, and Pathan.[/quote'] I have to agree. While there's no doubt that Raina will be part of this team in the future, right now for the world cup we absolutely need the best players in form and Raina just doesn't look comfortable or confident at the crease. We can afford to carry Dhoni/Yuvi even though they've been short on runs because one is the captain and the other a useful spin bowler but we absolutely cannot carry three underperforming batsmen in the middle. That would be a sure recipe for disaster.
achilles Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Those calling for Raina to be selected ahead of Yuvraj seriously need to go smell the coffee. I remember Marrirs_mania saying in some thread that if India wants to have an iota of a chance of winning this World Cup, Yuvraj must be in top form. And I guess everyone will agree that it is absurd to say that Raina must play ahead of Yuvraj or even Yusuf for that matter! the CSK connection will work in Raina's favor :haha: You call a spade, a spade? You just can't do that. Apologize!
