Ranjha Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Both Pathan and Kohli have to play. I would say Yuvraj or Dhoni could be dropped too. They are all batting on the same level. But Yuvi has more experience and better bowler and Dhoni is captain. Do you agree?
Sid Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Yuvi should be playing ahead of Raina only becoz of his left arm spin
Sachin=GOD Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 If someone has to be dropped from the batting order it has to be Yuvraj. Its been ages since he batted well and his fielding standards in the last few months have also declined considerably. The only reason why he may be in the team is his bowling. As for Raina - if you remove this SA series then he was been performing quite well for the last few months and has made some vital contributions while batting at no 6 and more often than not he saves a few runs because of his fielding as well, so he has to be in the team for the World Cup.
Ranjha Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 raina will play all the matches. At whos expense? Yuvi's? Surely Pathan and Kohli will get the first start.
Holysmoke Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I find it hilarious that dhoni is one of the contenders :hysterical:
zen Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Ind can keep Kohli and YP out of the 11 at its own peril! Btw, where is the option that says drop both UV and Raina? If the top 5: Ten, Sehwag, GG, Kohli and YP, along with Dhoni, strike good form then we can even play 5 bowlers: - Ten - Sehwag - GG - Kohli - YP - Dhoni - 2 from Bhajji, Ashwin and Chawla - PK - Zak - Munaf
flamy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 and they came for my head when I questioned Raina's place :nervous:
Kalia_Test Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I do think Yuvi shud be there...it is a WC and we need some experienced heads too....but this discussion might be redundant...I have a strong feeling that that one or even two of Sehwag/Gambhir/Tendu have more than normal niggles
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 and they came for my head when I questioned Raina's place :nervous: Off with your their heads!!!! (with the red queen voiice from alice in wonderland).this team is very conservative, they wont drop raina for matches in the sub continent)
wanted_desi Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Will sehwag be able to bowl during the world cup :((?
urbestfriend Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 No way....Raina is a pocket dynamite in Indian pitches. Without Raina, there are no brilliant fielders except Kohli to field, we can't win WC without good fielding. Raina is must so as Kohli.
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Will sehwag be able to bowl during the world cup :((? good question,he might bowl in the knckout stages but dont see him risking it before then.
Sachin=GOD Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 To all those who say that Raina should be dropped, look at the following link: link Raina has made the most number of runs at no 6 in the entire World in last 2 years. So, the most that can be done is to have him bat at no 6 and then our batting order would look something like this: Goody Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Dhoni Raina Yusuf.
Andy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Dhoni cant be dropped as he is the skipper. Yuvraj struggles against Spin too, WC would be played in India and Raina would be all right.
wanted_desi Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Why was Yusaf given not given enough overs with ball :S
Sachinism Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 ok drop yuvi Yuvi's bowling has been brilliant. I see him playing for his bowling now Its a shame Raina may have to sit out, but he hasn't done himself any favours. Lost form at the wrong time. He still has an opportunity or 2 to prove himself in the warm up games
