Although WC has a lot of games, almost half of the games will include a minnow, which would pull smaller numbers. Some of the games esp. the ones with India will have huge numbers and some will have disastrous numbers while most games in IPL will tow the average numbers irrespective of which teams are playing and having more games than the WC will offset the huge numbers WC will have if India makes it to the QF,SF and then the Finals. Sachin=GOD Posted February 6, 2011 Share Posted February 6, 2011 In terms of viewership, the IPL will surpass the World Cup simply because India will play only a handful of matches in the World Cup and most of the other matches (specially the ones involving the minnows) won't have many viewers. IPL- nonstop action, every fan can watch every match not just their team with excitement, user friendly in the sense of timing, shorter matches and fast paced action. Cricket World Cup- real passion of billions, hopes of billions. But is stop and break policy, one match and next match for the fan is after some time.
