ODIs should be eliminated, where are they now???

After the success of T20, even the most mature commentators were talking about abolishing the ODIs altogether. "Tests for tradition, T20 for entertainment" was their tone. Now, with even the warmup match tickets selling for double of their actual price, I wonder what are their views now???

well I really hope test don't die, what nations can do is to have multiple teams and can play different formats simultaneously, for e.g. One team of India can play tests with Oz and one team of India can play T20 with WI, of course this has many problems too

None of the existing three formats will die in near future, but i guess test cricket is much lesser popular in subcontinent than in England/Australia, and may be the first format to get the exit door rather than the ODIs.

I don't know what games you guys are watching, but ODI's still seem very interesting. First couple of games rite after IPL or 2020 world cup might seem boring, like India tour of west indies rite after 2009 wc, but overall, 5050 is still enjoyable. Atleast, I enjoy it.

That's exactly what i meant. But u know oz's and SAFs have already restricted their domestic matches to 40 overs. And there were also talks about splitting ODIs in 2 innings of 25 overs each and bla bla bla.

well if we go in past no one had thought about playing ODIs , that time only tests, but we made ODIs , now we are at T20 , lets see wat will happen in future some new and exciting format.

I dont think the 20-20 format will ever be shortened just because it is shorter form of 50-50 which is the shorter form of Tests. 20-20 is not long form of cricket that it needs to be curtailed further , 10-10 is not going to give more excitement than 20-20 anyways . 20-20 fits well within the time limit which most of the modern day sports come under.
