dude!! 1996 world cup, quarter final.. i remember, was watching this with cousins in baroda.. we went for a huuuuuge parade after india won, complete with flags, crackers, et all :hic:

Re: Re-living - Waqar Younis is being Slaughtered I do remem tht day.. I was having my physics exam for +12 board a day after tht match.. I was sneaking into my TV room to catch the match...since my mom had put a ban on watching TV.. i cudnt resist it as i was hearing screams in my my neighbourhood.. wish i had watched it in a relaxing way...

Rest of the euro crowd was used to whistles and cheers between me and the Pakistanis during the WC Apparently, the dean put up a notice saying " TV can only be viewed in the afternoon for World Cup Cricket " But when this match happened, it was our break, my Pakistani counterpart was in Boston and I was holidaying in Spain. When I came back, he walked up to me and said just 1 thing " I hope you guys go on and win the WC " It's another story that he haunted me after the Semi-Finals

Re: Re-living - Waqar Younis is being Slaughtered We knew it was all over after Miandad's run-out. Surreal atmosphere. This defeat still hurts them today. Being the defending champions and dumped out by their arch-rivals in an anti-climactic match; it was as humiliating as it could get. Aside from Jadeja's stellar effort; the Bangalore boys (Prasad and Kumble) played superbly in front of their own home crowd.
