satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 It is most likely that SL will be A3 and we B2.So can we defend 300+ total against SL there.
HowardRoark Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 On the other hand, a spinning track might backfire against SL.
cowboysfan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 i think we still have an excellent chance of topping the group, lots of matches to be played and i wouldnt be shocked if WI and bangladesh pull off some upsets.

satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 On the other hand' date=' a spinning track might backfire against SL.[/quote'] No.
cowboysfan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Even if we beat SA but SA will surely beat Eng. how do you figure that?England beat them in their last series.
satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 how do you figure that?England beat them in their last series. Morkel and Steyn were out of form then. This SA will most proably beat Eng. But please this is not the discussion for this thread.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 It is most likely that SL will be A3 and we B2.So can we defend 300+ total against SL there. We won't know that unless we play SA. If we beat SA we will be B1 most likely as out NRR is pretty high and we still have to play Netherlands and Ireland.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 But SA will beat Eng. It won't matter if we beat SA as we have a point from today's game. If we beat SA, beat the minnows and take care of business against Windies we will win the group.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 OK suppose we lose to SA. Then can we defend 300 + against SL at Ahmedabad. If we lose to SA then we are either B2 or B3 and most probably will play one of Aus, SL or Pak :nervous: Based on today's evidence our bowling is not good enough to beat any of those teams.
satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 If we lose to SA then we are either B2 or B3 and most probably will play one of Aus' date=' SL or Pak :nervous: Based on today's evidence our bowling is not good enough to beat any of those teams.[/quote'] Our run rate is better than England . And trust me SL will be A3. So you don't fancy our chance against SL.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Our run rate is better than England . And trust me SL will be A3. So you don't fancy our chance against SL. On a flat batting deck, nope. Unless Sehwag or someone plays a blinder and scores 350+ but it would be tough to do against SL bowling with Murali, Mendis, Malinga, Herath and company.

I fancy our chances against SL and Kiwis.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 We scored 363-5 against them. I fancy our chances against SL and Kiwis. But a knock-out is a different proposition altogether. Scoring 365-3 or 400 against them in a odi series is different from scoring the runs in a "winner takes all" game. In fact I'm beginning to get scared of Kiwis as well thinking what McCullum, Taylor or Ryder can do if they get in :((
satyam1729 Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 For that we have to be 3rd in our group.
zen Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Bring it on:yay: Last time when we beat you, we went into the final .... this time, we will go a step further and take the cup :yay: Also Ind lost in two semis in last two world cup in the subcon so this time I am hoping that Ind is 3rd time lucky so wouldn't mind playing Pak in semis either :P
