zen Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Our fielding, along with running b/w the wkts, is not going to be at the standards of some of the top fielding sides, let's accept that fact. We get into trouble by doing things some of the other sides do based on their strength. Our strength is in playing somewhat test match type of cricket, i.e. 1. Take it easy on risky singles and doubles .... hit the bad bowl out of the park 2. Keep men in catching position and/or pack the infield w/ an extra fielder in the middle overs. The fielders are not going to dive around that much to turn a ball hit a few feet away from him into a dot. To create dot, plug the gap by having an extra guy in 3. Go for wkts and the kill at every given opportunity. Bowling line and length, creating pressure through dots isn't going to work always in the match as either a boundary ball will be bowled in an over or a single given / turned into a double by our fielders 4. Focus on doing the basics rights in the field and take your catches (don't drop anything)
