Raghav_12 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Its actually OUR headache, as Lufth or British dont seem to care if we miss our connection because incoming flight gets delayed. Minor delays, they will adjust. But short connections can be tricky. Airlines are not behaving as responsible as they used to behave 10-15 yrs ago. Lufthansa's responsibility is to take you from oringal place and drop you at your final destination.. they dont care if you are missing your connecting flight or you get to your destination 1 day late.. so dont be in false impression. Thanks Guys.. But abhi to book ho gaya hai.. let's see how it goes. There is very good possibility that my luggage will not reach with me, so i would carry some clothes in cabin. But I am pretty optimistic, I'll not miss my connecting flight.

So no need to panic.
Texan Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 hard to dig it up but im sure thats the case if you have the passport. just ask at a terminal to confirm next time. it might be 30 mins but there is a rule One of my flights reached 2 hours late (due to poor weather at my departing airport) and that was the time when my connecting flight was supposed to take off. The connecting flight did not even wait 15 mins for me and the next flight from the airport to my destination was next day. I had to wait one full day at the airport and I was not even provided accommodation or meals (because it was a weather-related reason). I reserved a hotel at my own cost. As far as I know, there is no such rule and a flight does not have to wait for you.

I've missed planes because of that.. i got re-routed once at the frankfurt airport because Lufthanza was late by an hour and half.. Facts: 1st Flight was delayed cuz of their mistake (technical probs) 2nd flight take off time was 30 mins after i got out of the first flight 2nd flight terminal was at the other end of airport (was told you are not going to make it, dont try, doors are closing in 5 mins) I had boarding passes for both flights in my hand Had US passport Got re-routed through Dubai and reached destination 12 hours late This affected at least 25 of us who were on that plane.. (mostly Indians) bro I was flying to Dubai through American airlines once and had a stop over. flight in ny got delayed 3-4 hrs cuz of snow storm and I had a transfer in heathrow in 1.5 hrs so I asked the AA ppl in the boarding area abt what to do. and they gave me the boarding pass from London-DXB and said that it has to wait a certain time period for you before it can leave as u already have the boarding pass. sure enough I arrived like 45 mins late but there was already someone from AA when we landed in heathrow who took me and a few others straight to the terminal we were required to be at and didn't miss our plane eventhough we were well past the departure time

As far as I know, there is no such rule and a flight does not have to wait for you. 2 questions a) you had the boarding pass for the 2nd flight? b) why did you pay for the hotel? its the airlines fault. when my flight was stranded in Doha cuz of some hurricane in ny (Irene I think) I got a free 2 day hotel stay and complementary meals from Qatar airways. same thing happened with a friend of mine from Chennai when his plane got stranded in London due to some volcanoes in iceland

They said that they could have provided me vouchers that would have given me some discount on my hotel stay, but they ran out of them. Qatar is one of the better airlines so I can understand that they provided you accomodation. I was travelling by Delta, which then had a direct flight from US to India. The only thing that they did give me was a free upgrade to first class on my second leg next day from Atlanta to Mumbai.

Delta is not liable to provide you with a hotel in the airline's country of origin which is the US in this case. If you were lets say in london or dubai with delta and this happened i think tey would have had to. also its cool delta has a flight direct to india. i knew jet airways does from newark but didnt know abt delta

My flight landed in Munich well before schedule but there were long queues at immigration and then at security. And when I reached at boarding gate they were calling my name repeatedly on PA system (felt important). I was the last person to board connecting flight.
