Ultimate_Game Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Our home season kicks off during the winter season, i.e. Oct-Mar so I don't think you will see any home tests/series in the near future. Most probably India will tour during the summer time and then host someone come winter.

So sometime between October and December, India will host a home test series. I am trying to find out who India will be hosting, for how many matches and at what venues. Bangalore's M Chinnaswamy Stadium is one kick ass stadium. I'd like it if it were to host a test.

I'd hate it if India were to host SL, so god damn sick of playing them. Don't know who India will be playing, can't be England (just played), Australia (about to play) or South Africa (played last year). Could possibly be SL :mad:

Could possibly be SL :mad: This is what I heard as well and that's why I am guessing SL would come over to India as BCCI is great in inviting SL whenever there's a series to be squeezed in :haha:
EnterTheVoid Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 It would majorly help if the BCCI DONT schedule the tests in places like Mohali/Nagpur. In major capitals like Mumbai/Chennai/Delhi/Bangalore, you can get direct flights from Singapore and its just a LOT easier.

This is how BCCI gets around the FTP, i.e. they are supposed to tour a country once every 4-6 years and are supposed to host them as well. Since weaker or smaller teams such as Windies, NZ etc. are not a big revenue generator, BCCI avoids touring or inviting them and then they are forced to tour and invite them the same year just to meet the FTP obligation. As for the match venues, they are decided to please various state associations to get votes during the BCCI elections

We must even tour Holland and Ireland for a couple of games, in fact every team touring England must play a couple of ODIs just to keep them improving their play, otherwise they come in the big event as an unpolished, unknown quantity
