Late Cut Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 And I believe that if Whites give there everything to cricket then they can absolutely dominate the game thanks to there strong built and athletic abilities . Notice the difference between the standard of fielding of Asian teams and Australia/NZ/South Africa . Even the Dutch and Irish are superior to the Asian teams in fielding department . These part time cricketers from Europe show better performance in the field compared to Lazy Asians. Next thing, someone's gonna talk about eating meat. :haha:
Baad Indian Posted March 9, 2011 Author Posted March 9, 2011 Next thing' date=' someone's gonna talk about eating meat. :haha:[/quote'] Lack of quality fast bowlers is due to the absence of fast bowling culture in India , every new kid wants to hold the bat and drive it past the ball like Tendulkar , no1 wants to put in the effort , do some running , bend the back . Such an attitude at the grass root level is what is responsible behind India not producing genuine quicks , even while the guys are on the field or bowling all they are bothered about is " Meri Batting Kab aaegi" . All being said is in general barring exceptions.
Raghav_12 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Boxing isn't even a sport - it's just a remnant of mankind's barbaric past and will die out as civilization evolves more. +++ I was going to post something similar until I saw this post. Yes, I think, boxing as a sport is just menifestantion of human's violent animalistic instincts. To be very successful in this sport you need to have a lot of these instincts in you like Mike Tyson does. With time this sport will also go away, the way Roman gladiator fights did..
Raghav_12 Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I have never watched a boxing game in my life, so beats me. Football is 90 minutes, players are running all the time, passing the ball around, having shots at the posts, excellent skills, bootiful ladkiyas in the stadium, sometimes pissed off hooligans compare this to cricket 9 hours of play for 5 consecutive days and you get a draw? Which draw seems more acceptable? Also, in cricket you see a lot of nonathletic people, no need to name them, football players looks to be more in shape compared to cricketers. I wouldn't say cricket is a lazy sport, but more effort is required in football. then you should limit yourself to watch only 100 m races :haha::haha:. All other sports are lazy, relatively speaking.

It's like saying that you need to be corrupt like Cronje, or Azharrudin to be a sucessful cricketer. Most people that compete in MMA etc. are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. In fact, they are probably the least likely to ever start a fight.

Can you imagine a VVS Laxman or Rahul Dravid standing in boxing ring and punching his opponents? Boxing is niether a sport nor a activity in which civilized people indulge.

rahulrulezz Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 The amount of strength, stamina, tactics, technique, willpower just about everything in boxing is just enormous.. I only have respect for boxers... End of the days, when folks like Lewerlock, Inzi, Balaji rao play professional sport, you know the standard of the sport.. I dont think Cricketer can compete a boxer in any sport baring Cricket...
Raghav_12 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Dude who do you think is going to win in a 100 m race? Ramesh Powar or Dwayne Leverock? Man.. Was just trying to highlight the fact that speed is not the only thing for which people watch/play sports and hence to ridicule cricket just because it is not as fast as other sports doesn't make sense. Anyways, no offense was intended.

Dude you don't wanna mess with rahulrulez, the boxer has spoken, one punch and you will be knocked out of this world, the guy is like a rhino, boxing is my favorite sport:pray:, what's cricket?

bihutoli Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Well I doubt he has given too much thought to his statement on cricket. He doesn't seem to be the kind who analyses what he says. The second part of his statement 'Test matches end in a draw' is just trolling. Having said that cricket is the type of game that alllows the likes of Munaf Patel and Inzy to have a professional sports career. Boxing on the other hand requires tremendous passion, mental strength and physical stamina. I could unnderstand why a boxer could be condescending towards a cricketer. And he is just not an ordinary boxer, I have only respect for this guy.
vaibhav_delhi Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Dude who do you think is going to win in a 100 m race? Ramesh Powar or Dwayne Leverock? extending the ques. who do you think will come last in a 100m race: Ramesh Powar, Inzimam ul haq, Balaji rao, Dwayne Leverock?

Can you imagine a VVS Laxman or Rahul Dravid standing in boxing ring and punching his opponents? Boxing is niether a sport nor a activity in which civilized people indulge. So you keep saying civilized, care to define that? People are much more cruel, banal, and destructive to each other on a daily basis, especially the "civilized" ones than anyone who is not. And how exactly is mike Tyson not an exception than the norm? Cricketers have done much worse than bite of an ear, more painful things that hurt a lot more than one person, such as fix matches, lie and cheat nations, punch each other out when that is outside what the sport is supposed to be, call each other racial slurs, fk each others wives...so who exactly is civilized here? I' ll leave you with a lil quote from a fav book of mine: "Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skull split, as a general thing."
bihutoli Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 "Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skull split' date=' as a general thing."[/quote'] Really like this quote. This characterization of boxers etc as uncivilized etc is unwarranted imo. However I can understand where such posters are coming from I guess. As a kid I did notice many kids (anti social for lack of a better term or relatively less strictly parented maybe) veer towards martial arts than towards the soft sports. However the sport weeds out the undedicated, and instills some level of discipline in those that remain.

And Inzamam was the best Batsman as far as mental strength was concerned , Imagine how strong the guy was to take his side home to 1 wicket victories on so many occasions . Atleast in Boxing you are having a go at 1 person only , whereas in Cricket there are 11 against 2 trying to get the better of the opponent. In a situation of 30 Odd runs required with 9 wickets down , any batsman expert in leading his side to win from a situation like this has to be far superior in terms of mental strength than any Boxer will ever be. Mike Hussey , Inzy , Dravid , Laxman types

I think going to Karate/ Judo etc class is a money + time investment. You can't just go below your home and do Karate on the streets, like you do for cricket. I think kids pushing their kids towards martial arts are the types who think it necessary to keep their kids 'occupied' doing something during vacations or free time and are not the relatively less strictly parented.

Some days back someone had posted a video of a Pakistani boxer on the chitchat forums. He was the boxing equivalent of Inzi. Just on the thinner side. What I think is 'lazy' is looking down one sport to glorify another. Vijender doesn't have to call other sports lazy to make boxing look good.
