Who cares, we have QUALIFIED anyway

Recommended Posts

This sounds good in all but in reality we had to defeat either England or South Africa, there is just no excuse for it, we batted first, put on a defensible total and our useless bowlers just cannot perform when the game is on. What impression have you got that this trend would not continue once the knock out games begin? I am usually very optimistic and upbeat but I just hope these guys can get their act together soon. p.s If Sachin scoring hundreds in big games and then diving around the field is not a inspiration for these guys to left their game up and perform for their country then I don't know what is.

If Bangladesh beats Holland and SA England beats WI SA beats Ireland WI beats us then WI, Bangla and SA will be on 8 points and between us and England, the one with the higher net run rate will go through. And remember that their net run rate will rise with a win and ours will decline with a loss so they don't necessarily have to thrash WI to go ahead of us.
kuch fiqar karne ki zarurat nahi, we are sailing to quaterfinal don't worry. there is no way banglas are beating saffers. i think windies will beat england aswell

Dude' date='we will beat the saffers and windies,no worries.[/quote'] AHEM...... you were saying...........
I don't care if they choke or not .. But WTF is wrong with Indian team .. They really need phanty of their lives .. No passion at all they have .. What kind of bowlers we have in our team .. just awful .. Sreeshant was way better than munaf and nehra .. Only zaheer is the genuine bowler ... and if they have no intentions to player 2 spinners against a team which can't play spinners properly, so WTH keep giving him chances again and again .. No thinking being put into the team selection ..

The quarter-final scenario India's defeat means they aren't yet entirely certain of making the last eight, though they should still make it barring a miracle. There's a small chance of their being eliminated if the following results happen: England beat West Indies, who in turn beat India; Bangladesh win both their remaining games, while South Africa beat Ireland. In such a scenario, South Africa, Bangladesh and West Indies will be ahead of India on points, while England will be level with them. That'll bring net run rates into play, and it's here that India have a reasonably comfortable cushion - their NRR of 0.768 is well ahead of England's 0.013. India will have to lose their match by about 95 runs, and England will have to win by about the same margin for their run rate to move ahead of India's. For South Africa, the win has considerably eased the pressure on them. A defeat would have left them with two must-win games - including a potentially tricky one against Bangladesh in Mirpur - but this result against India means they'll have to mess it up really badly from here to not make it to the quarter-finals. All they need is a win in either of their last two games, against Ireland and Bangladesh.

On the Chennai wicket' date=' there is no way we would lose to WI unless the turning track so far suddenly changes nature and become a flat patta.[/quote'] Even on a flat patta we have more batting firepower than Windies. Windies only have Gayle and Pollard whereas we have Sehwag, Tendulkar, Yuvraj and Pathan with Gambhir, Kohli and Dhoni capable of scoring at a decent rate as well. For WI there's a huge gap after Gayle and Pollard as the likes of Chanderpaul and Sarwan can't match our lineup. Plus if we play Ashwin, we should have better bowlers for the track while WI have one major threat - Roach. If we are able to neutralize Roach we will put up a huge total.

Yep, this is the match where we need to put our campaign back on track. We have played at maybe 65-70% of our ability and yet have taken the match to the 100th over in the matches vs Eng and SA. Its time to get this up to maybe 90-95% and send out the right message to the rivals.

If we play even to 80-90% of our potential I can see just 3 teams hanging with us - Aus, SA and SL. I am expecting a much improved performance against the windies and expect that to continue come knockouts

Relax .... Almost zero possibilty if all of below mentioned combination happens ..... but you never know .. keep your fingers crossed Bangladesh beats Holland and SA England beats WI SA beats Ireland WI beats us then WI, Bangla and SA will be on 8 points and between us and England, the one with the higher net run rate will go through.

There is no need to cry or overreact. We lost but our next match on 20th' date=' by that time all the teams will have played their matches and mathematically we will have qualified to the quater finals before the west indies match. if worst of the worst happens then we will finish at number 4. It looks like Australia will finish 1st in group A so we might get them in quaters. But I think we will finish 2nd and face Pakistan. If we face Lanka then where will the quaters be held at and what about if we get Pakistan.[/quote']if india plays lanka in quater finals vil b only held in india as per the icc rules the team with higher rank vil host the match if held between hosting nations but with other countries all india match vi b held only in india ...

The possibility of Ind getting out in the first round is less than 0.000001% But interesting proceedings so far. Looking at the format, one would have instantly picked 8 quarter finalists, but minnows have performed well and strong teams still can't relax enough to lose a spot in the QFs
