zen Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Irrespective of what happens in the Eng vs WI game from now on, the WI are looking pretty good and confident. If they qualify (and they probably will), their bowling looks pretty good to clean up SL, Pak and NZ, and on their day their batsmen can do carnage with the bat. SL has Murali and Malinga, NZ has Southee and Vettori, Pak has Akthar and Gul to strike back but somehow the WI bowling appears better overall. You feel as if the WI bowlers look to attack and know how to get that wkt. The team looks good either playing in BD or SL. If they can be a little more consistent with the bat, they have players who can deliver the KO punch. Imagine they bat first and score 230 at Premdasa, under the lights Roach and company could be too hot to handle, and on slower surface at BD, they have guys who can bowl accurately to create pressure. Watch out for WI, grp A!
therocky Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I think the last time West indies beat a good team was two years ago
Ultimate_Game Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 We have seen enough... they still are way too unpredictable and depend on a few to get the job done. I still think that if Gayle, Pollard and to a lesser extent Roach don't perform they will fail.
The Realist Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Yeah their batting is pretty thin, get them 5 or 6 down and the tail can be blown away.
zen Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 WI missed C'paul today. Don't know why he wasn't played. Anyways, if BD beats SA and WI loses to Ind, grp A wouldn't have to worry abt WI :giggle:
