The odd part is that the other girls complained about the guy entering the hostel. :omg: I expected some kind of solidarity among hostelites on matters like these. However, where I think the MMM college went overboard is asking IIT Delhi to take action against the boy. Frankly, it is not the business of MMM college what IIT Delhi decides to do. Especially on matters like these, where only minor laws are broken (rather bent). I know a few students in IIT Mumbai, who say that some IITians there have drugs and alcohol on campus. If serious issues like these can go unchecked for aeons, then IIT shouldn't punish this guy for his amorous actions. PS: I actually find it quite romantic that this guy went all the way to Gorakhpur to be with his girl and entered in a girls dress. :two_thumbs_up: And they are good students too. :--D What exactly are you advocating? Colleges encouraging sex?? As far as I know, there are no co-ed hostels anywhere. I don't know about that. You just can't generalize. If I were in that hostel, I wouldn't complain to anyone unless extremely inconvenienced. So your point about other girls having objection to the presence of a guy in their rooms is moot. He (mostly) wasn't in a room with any of the girls who complained. The only girl with whom he shared a room was the one who 'brought' him in. Its highly doubtful that she objected to his presence. Unless you know better. And for the sake of argument, if he was indeed sharing a room with some other girls also, why didn't they complain that night itself? Prima facie, it looks like the other girls realized only the next morning that a guy stayed over with the rusticated girl. Till then they were blissfully unaware. So your whole theory of the other girls objecting to his presence is on flimsy grounds, especially when he wasn't present with them and was discovered only the next morning. I don't know what they teach in the US, but here in India we've been taught that in a debate you attack the idea(s) the 'opponent' puts forth and not the 'opponent'. I am sure on that count.
