He surpassed Sarfaraz Khan's 439 - scored in the Under-16 Harris Shield competition last year - to claim the world record. In my opinion if India want to have anyone get near Tandulkars records and to play for 20 years at the helm , youngsters like these need to start playing for India at the age of 17-18 if they have talent and show promise? or else we might never see another Tendulkar . What are your views?

There will be people who will have same or more talent and may continue like that for 10-15 years - and with that enter All time great list - but to continue doing that for another 15-10 years, its hard to imagine. We might have to wait for another 40-50 years or more to see someone coming closest to him.

Roshanrocks Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 there will be lots of prodigies who will come with lots of expectation, but ultimately the pressure of being the next tendulkar wont be easy to handle. Batsmen like Bradman and Tendulkar come like once in 2 generations.

ganeshran Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Its better for batsmen to get filtered through the domestic system and the ones with technical glitches to not progress to national side. For some reasons bowlers getting filtered through the domestic system reduces their pace.
